Are you ready for 9995m long mountain road? Be careful, the road has surprises...
Gentlemen, want a challenge? Let's put our times here! I was not able to finish a single lap yet!
NOTE: Put a bit lower the graphic quality, the tracks is a FPS eater...

Incredible, thank you Aritz. :)
I just drove a first lap - very dangerous. ;)
i downloaded it and put it into my tracks folder but in game the track dont appear in the track list :S
Rename it to zip and extract it. It was the same for me.

But for me it works also offline without problems.
hmmmm :(
Weird... Download again, maybe your downloaded file is incomplete, it happens often
Check the first post, download link updated (now is a zip)
when you download it it still comes out as a pkz file not a zip it says on the download page it is but it is not its not in a compressed zip folder at all?
ignore my post above all seems to be working fine :)

Crgdk37 I hate this problem what you have to to is download the Pkz then shut the window and then click on aritz link again after this click really quick on download enter the surcurity wording press enter, now it should download as a zip file and that's all
Hope this helped
The problem isn't fixed with the new zip download. Offline I still get connection time out, and when I try to join the test server krp crashes.
I have the same problem but aritz I drove it earlier the whole thing and it was epic but my shifter struggled on those hills if I had it in 2nd I revved the nuts of it and if it was in 3rd the revs where too low! Brilliant track though lots of work went into that as we can see. Should try making a city street circuit in like london, paris, berlin, rome and barcelona as some fantasy tracks would be awesome!
Keep up the good work!

I don't know what to say... I can play everytime I want to. Load time is longer than the other tracks, but it always loads...
Your computer is powerfull enough? How many RAM? Have you try with low graphics values? I have a quite medium-good computer, 8gb Ram (for my 3d and video programs) and I have only 25-40 FPS! (1920x1080 and everything full)
the MAP file is very big, near the allowed max, maybe Piboso should help here, he is the expert :-[
The first two records are almost the same time! How can it be?
Only 2 sec difference in a 6min lap :o

There is still much space for improvements. Here a replay and the setup (CRG) of my lap.

May I use your replay for a video? I am not able to end a lap without a crash ::)
The track is in BETA stage, so now is the time for fix the bugs, do you found any? More things to improve?
For example, the cambers are wrong, they have a bump almost everytime when the track start bending...
I'll do a list in the first post

Feel free to use the replay for whatever you want. :)
It works now, and it's already very good and fun to drive. I test it for an hour but I didn't find much problems. There are some bumps in some corners that has to be fixed but that's all I found. So good job Artiz ;)
About that problems I first had. I tried it on my laptop and didn't work there. But on my computer it worked, so maybe my laptop can't handle it.
I am glad to hear that :D I've tested in my two OS and it works on both, so maybe the problem is the computer specs as you said...
Thanks for your words, but they are not needed; I really enjoyed making it :D It is very gratifying to build a 3D environment, I wish to have this job someday :-\
This track pushes the engine to the limits.
1) Everything has a back side! This doubles the triangles count!
2) Everything is collidable. This slows down loading time
3) Some of the triangles are very large, slowing down the physics simulation ( it would probably be a good idea to change the TRP exporter to automatically split them )
P.S.
the 2 jumps are killers, with the road turning before the land spot! :)
the jumps are my problem !
Yes, I know that... :-[
The double face is because of the shadows I asked you some days ago, trk objects donĀ“t cast shadows you said and the track was poor that way... Any suggestion?
The terrain is not finished at all, this version is only for testing, I have planned to smooth it with shorter triangles and I have to detach not collidable terrain aswell.
Maybe I was too optimistic and I had to do it first, sorry to everybody who have problems...
Thx Piboso, I needed that information for next updates or tracks

Haha I love them! You must think where to land or you are dead! You have to train with a flight simulator lol. I was RICHARD BURNS RALLY game lover and there were a lot of blind jumps like here :P
I will add a new link without shadows, probably people with problems will be able to load the track. I will call it Yosemite Park Redux ;)

Yes, wait for the optimized track please (without shadows :( )
You put invisiable collidable walls and make high poly objects (gaurdrails and mountain face) noncolidable.
Ive never seen double sided mesh before so i dont know you would disable it

I've watched dibu's replay and I had an idea: I will make double faced terrain only where the shadow are right now :P In fact, there are only a few shadows ::)
And for the guardrails, I did a mistake too, they are double faced and both sides are collidable, which is a nonsense...
So, the next BETA, will be the same track but optimized. It is a fast fix, so it will be ready probably today ;)
Silly me... why make double faced object to cast shadow, it is better to delete the TRK prefix... the granite walls don't need to be collidable at all...

its the first big jump i have problems with i think its because its a single lane not a double, would you consider finishing the road works before the jump ? im a fan of the colin mcrae dirt series (1, 2 and 3)
Here the optimized BETA2, I have 5-10 more FPS I think, so maybe works for those who still can't play.
The loading takes very long yet, even with a lot less collidable objects :(
http://www.mediafire.com/?ebyssb19srlibr6
please test and if it works better, I will remove the old one and update the track registration aswell.
It works fine for me, while the first link didn't work ! Thanks Aritz :)
For me there is not much difference to the first version, but I have no problems with both releases.
I get about 6 FPS more and 30MB less memory usage. The loading time is about the same.

Yes, only 6 FPS and the loading time the same, but now the track has not all the terrain repeated as before.
The shadow is a problem, I don't know what to do or how to optimize keeping the shadows (with shadows I mean the shadow that the mountains cast in lower parts of the track. Usually karts tracks are flat, so this shouldn't be a problem for other tracks but it is here)
Now I can only split the polygons as Piboso recommends, which is what I am going to do for the next days.

Good! So the optimizing worked! And with the next beta, I think the track will be even "lighter"
If the new version solves the connection timeout problems for some people you should exchange it in the stats too.
Maybe it also solves the online connection problem if more than one or two people are already on a server (sorry forgot to report).
I'll run a server with the new version now.

Thanks Aritz. I just found out that the lap timing (in game) doesn't work anymore. :o

it was late tonight when I convert the improved track, probably I missed something. Let me test it :)
When I look in tracked at the new version, I see that S/F and ST don't end in any material at the left side.
I'll shorten them for a test and report again.
Timing works if I shorten S/F line from -10.00000 to -8.000000 and ST line from -10.000000 to -4.960000 (the left limit of the asphalt.)

Ok, thx. I will update the link with the new RDF file.
By the way, the track cambers need a fix, I can't finish a single lap wthout a crash... I have to smooth them now, before any other improvement :-\
FIXED RDF file ;)
I see that you also changed the right side values in your rdf.
I've just done a first lap in the stats with a rdf where only the two left side values were changed.
So I guess you have to re-register the track or upload a rdf where only left side is changed.
Otherwise others will not get their online times. Sorry for additional work ::)
hehe

But this all is temporary, the track will be updated soon with the improved cambers AND softer guardrails (metallic safety fences) >:(

why are you putting saftey fence becasue of mesh size? what if you leave the gaurdrail make it non colidable and put a simple extruded line named WLLARMCINVISIBLE in front this will be invisible but collidable.
evo is right, if u crash so hard that u fly over the armcors u are lost annyway :)
With PKZ again, It DON`T work with win 7, u have to use win xp or vista then pkz files work.
on the download database can you approve my dash upload and delete the lydd one. I need to upload a newer version

No, the fence is needed, the roads have fences... what is the point of an invisible barrier?

Ups, I didn't know that... And it is a problem, I haven't got XP anymore...
the invisible barrier makes the sound of the armco when you hit it but it is very low polygon so the game engine has less calculation to do.
and you can still have the nice gaurdrail behind it noncoliidable and improve fps

aah ok, it is a good idea, but I don't think the armco is a problem, the size of the track is worse....
But what I do need is a softer barrier, something which doesn't broke the kart... I thought to change from WLLARMC to WLLTYRE, which is softer :P Any better idea? invisible barriers could be a solution, with better shape to avoid bad impacts or something like that
did you resolve the double sided mesh. I think that will double FPS if you can fix that. Can you send me your 3d trees. I really like them. You should put some evergreen trees. Not sure if this is really necessary. I don't think that we will ever run standard races at this track, it's more a hot lap fun. And for hot laps it doesn't matter because if you only loose it a bit and kiss the barriers your lap is lost. It doesn't matter how hard the barriers are, if you have an impact you'll restart anyway.
Please don't make the track too soft. I like it as it is at the moment with all the strange cambers, hard barriers and all the other difficulties. :)

-I deleted most of the double sided mesh and the FPS improvement was remarcable. Besides, more people can play now. The job is not finished though, I have to do what Piboso said, split the biggest polygons.

White lines? USA's roads are painted with yellow lines, but anyway, I dont get which is the problem with these yellow lines...
ah it's granite sor my bad :p maybe alittle less white it woulbe more granit it really looks like snow for me .
For yelllow lines i know in usa u have yellow ones (grid2 nfs and all of the american racing games :) but i am from europe and it's white here;)
I was thinking to mount haruna too it has yellow and white lines and it make the track good .
But if it's a real track i understand u wouldn't had whites lines :)
But for granit not so white ll be better have u some pics of the real yosemite park? the same that u used for to copy the granite things.

Are you really telling me how I must make my tracks? I like this white granite, not the grey or brown one, I like the very white, snow looking one...
And no, my camera was ok, the photos are showing the same I saw with my eyes ;-)
No i don't tell you how to make you're track and i know it's abig labor.
I don't say you have maid bad works ,like i was said i love it it's one of my fav.
But usually when modder release a work they like to have suggestions or opinion. So it's just my opinion for granite and yes on the picture it looks less white.
I was just trying to share my idea cause just a filter on the white texture and it 'll look better i think.
Another thing my language is not the english as u can see so maybe my words are too rude...
I mod sometimes too and i like feedbacks positives or negatives if u don't want my opinion or any from others thats fine.
Anyway i enjoy the track thx again.
@sam why did u say this i have only posted 2 times in a track topic lol.
