Hello,

I am quite confused afer looking through the help guides on track creation. Do you create tracks in BTB, 3DS, or TrackEd? Any replies are appreciated!

Thanks,
Blake

I recommend you reread the guides on track creation as TrackED is not for making tracks its for finalizing a track for importation into KRP, what is used is either BTB or 3ds.
BTB has to be the PRO version as the process for making tracks in btb then bringing them to KRP is to make the track for rfactor then import it into KRP (how to that found here: http://forum.kartracing-pro.com/index.php?topic=196.0)

for 3ds your first step is found here (http://forum.kartracing-pro.com/index.php?topic=3047.0) this is complicated at first but when youve done it a couple times you'll realize thats its not as hard as you thought.

Hope this helps feel free to ask any other questions

Do you have to have 3DS max 2010, and if so, where do you find it?

You dont necessesarily need it, there are different ways to get the track exported, but its suggested. Better search through the net for it, you wont get a link here

How did you get the student version of 3ds max 2010  :o i thought it was available though autodesk anymore. Regardless 2010 is the preferred way to export to the game as it is the most stable and require the least amount of steps assuming you're converting the track from BTB/Rfactor. Piboso has announced new exporter plugins for up to date versions of 3ds though no eta on their release

Yea, I couldn't get 2010 so I got 2016. I guess it'll just take a bit longer to export, and I'm guessing the quality will be better.

There are no working exporters for 2016, exporters from 2015 are coming but not out yet

What about 2014? That is the only other option.

Nope for no apparent reason piboso skipped over 2014 and went for 2015 and 2013

So if I make it with 2015 I should be able to export by the time I am done?

Not 100% positive, but basically you should be. I just know for sure that 2010 is the most recommended way.

I always work with BTB/3Ds Max 2013 but ALWAYS! the export process goes through 2010. its the most reliable and properly working exporter
