If you want to host Internet server, you have to push first in "world", if not, the host will be LAN only

If  you want to enter in your dedicated as a admin, you have to write the pass (sound obvius but I didn't realized it  )

When you change any value of "admin" section in the server, the server restarts and of course, people is kicked (sounds obvius too, but you have to warn the people before the changes or they are going to hate you if they are in a good lap  )

You can do a stopped start only with KS1 or KC1 categories, if you put OPEN or KC3, the start will be launched

Am I right? Piboso, you should redo the multiplayer interface or add more information on it, is a little confusing

KC1 standing starts are only possible because of a bug, that will be fixed with Beta3.

In general, are there suggestions to make the user interface more friendly? Should more "guide balloons" ( the red boxes with help text ) be added? Where?

Yes, the balloons are very usefull but they should be shown always, not only in the first time. Other balloons like "click here to customize your profile" are quite obvius and they should be shown only one time. Anyway, more info always is better than less. You have to think that not all the KRP players visit the forum.

Maybe the "HOST" link should change from "LAN Host" to "Internet Host" after you clicked "WORLD"

Like other member said before, the progress bar when you are waiting to enter to a server, will be helpfull to begginers, if not, they could think that game crashed.
