Making kerbs

Hi!

Maybe someone can help me.
In the following video, I can't progress past minute 2:15. When I do this, I don't get the red line that is visible in the video. What am I doing wrong? I press shift before clicking.

I got this fix from somebody else because the edge tool wasn't letting me shift and click for the kerb. i use to be able to but i cant now. what you do is

1. Go to edit poly>Edge Tool (The triangle shape in selection)
2. Double click where you want the kerb to be (inside or outside)
3. There should be a redline around that side of the track which means you are doing it right.
4. Hold alt and select the bits you don't want until you get where the kerb is and leave the redline where the kerb is meant to be. Than the rest of that tutorial should work
