Operation Silent Hunt introduces Solid Snake as a permanent Rainbow Six Siege Operator, bringing several mechanics inspired by his Metal Gear Solid background into Siege.

His gameplay combines enemy detection with the ability to collect utility during a round, making him an unusually flexible Attacker.

How the Soliton Radar Works
The Soliton Radar MKIII is the center of Snake's intel-gathering kit.

When activated, it displays the layout around Snake and detects certain threats on his current floor and connected staircases.

A green display indicates All Clear, yellow warns that a default CCTV camera is actively being watched, and red means the radar has detected at least one enemy.

The more powerful feature is Precision Mode.

When activated, Precision Mode reveals the position and vision cone of detected enemies. This can help Snake determine where a Defender is located and even which direction they are watching before committing to an attack.

The Radar Has Several Counters
Players shouldn't treat an All Clear result as proof that a room is completely safe.

Vigil can use his Electronic Rendering Cloak to avoid detection, while Mute's Jammers interfere with the Soliton Radar.

Alibi's Prisma holograms can also appear as Operators on the radar and mislead Snake.

Additionally, the gadget detects default CCTV cameras but not cameras deployed by Operators. A Valkyrie Black Eye, for example, can still monitor Snake without appearing on his radar.

On-Site Procurement Changes Snake During a Round
Snake's On-Site Procurement ability makes his utility different from that of other Attackers.

He has five potential gadget slots covering Frag Grenades, Stun Grenades, Smoke Grenades, Impact EMPs, and Breach Charges. However, he begins with just one item.

Eliminated Operators drop utility pouches that Snake can collect.

For example, if Snake encounters electronic defenses later in a round, he could collect an Impact EMP. If he already used his Frag Grenade, another pouch could help him replenish his utility.

This makes Snake increasingly adaptable as more Operators are eliminated.

Players who want premium content for other parts of Siege can use Top Up R6 Credits in the game's Store. This system is separate from Snake's OSP mechanic and the utility he collects during matches.

Snake Gets the New TACIT .45
Solid Snake can equip either the PMR90A2 or F2 as his primary weapon.

His secondary is much more distinctive.

The new TACIT .45 pistol features both an integrated suppressor and reflex sight. It is designed to fit Snake's stealth-focused identity and can quietly remove Defender utility when needed.

Operation Silent Hunt also allows the F2 to equip grip attachments, including horizontal, angled, and vertical grips.

More Metal Gear Solid Content Is Coming
The Operation Silent Hunt Battle Pass instantly unlocks Solid Snake and also contains Metal Gear Solid-themed cosmetics, including a Psycho Mantis outfit for Smoke.

Later in the season, the [REDACTED] event will bring Snake together with Sam Fisher's Zero in a special 4v4 infiltration mode.

For players building their Operator and cosmetic collections, Buy Rainbow Six Siege Credits are used for eligible premium purchases. Siege-related digital products can also be found through marketplaces such as z2u.com.

Final Thoughts
Solid Snake introduces a different style of Attacker to Rainbow Six Siege.

His Soliton Radar can provide detailed information before entering dangerous areas, while OSP lets him adapt his utility to what happens during the round.

However, counters from Vigil, Mute, Alibi, and hidden Defender cameras mean Snake players still need to combine radar information with drones, communication, and careful map awareness.
