You should put it public instead of private :) People have to watch it!

Very nice!!

Haha, no, it is just a small test.  When we get it working perfectly, I will post a public version.

I just thought I would share our progress with the community here :)

An early test :)

For now I just bolted my old shifter kart steering wheel to it.

Awesome! Thank you for the video.
Do not hesitate to ask for code improvements, if needed.

Thanks PiBoSo!. I'm John, and I'm working on making Kart Racing Pro work with CXC's simulator. Thanks for making the plugin interface so accessible, but can I ask you to check out the code that outputs some of your telemetry? The X, Y, and Z accelerations jump around quite a bit until you get up to speed. Here's a video that shows what I mean and the effect it has on the simulator: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPeuSwSxWkM

Thank you for the new video.
It would be really funny, if it wasn't a bug to solve  :)

Do you need more or different output data?
Maybe something changed from local to world coordinate system or vice-versa?

Looks awesome, are you using the x-sim plugin?

Small update to the progress of my setup. Had the frame cleaned up with a soda blast. Starting to get all the parts setup to make the necessary mods to the frame for mounting things like the shifter etc.

the hardware offcourse is beautifull but i don't like the FOV because i couldn't see where i put the wheels and couldn't see the instrument panel on the steering wheel. a my friend uses tree monitor and he has the same "problem"

Ok, here is a bit more complete video:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CEECkKCP2c

The wheel is not completely done yet, but it's close.  We're also waiting for some view height adjustment capability in the next release so we can dial in the visuals.  With the height of our monitors, we need to lower the view height and level out the pitch.

Another update on my hardware project. Done the following:

- New seat installed, got it painted black.
- Mounted the shifter (switches and bottom mount bracket not complete)
- Mocked up the brake pedal setup. Uses G27 pedal and kart brake rod. Modified one end of the clevis to accept an M5 eyelet bearing. Will have   APElectrix load cell installed.
- Ran cables for clutch and throttle, G27 pedals to be mounted in usual spot for motor. Brackets to made for the cable tensioners.

nice work sim racer.  keep posting your pogress. very interested in this.  maybe you can elevated it on a table so its not floating and the steering box under the table.  my idea was to use a projector set to wide screen on slightly curved background. no idea of that would work or if the picture would distort. it would be a great unobstructed view

Thanks evo. It is only on the table at the moment while I am working on it. The plan is to elevate is slightly off the floor with some short mounts and castors. The G27 motor will then be mounted under the floor pan of the kart. I will be working on that bit soon.

As for the screens, I will be using triple screen mounts from an Obutto sim rig as they are a very cost effective option. Your curved projector screen idea is used in a number of other sim applications I have seen, and there is special software that you can get to take the distortion out of the image. A triple projector setup would be AMAZING, especially in 3D if you go for something like the cheaper Acer 3D ready versions.

Small update on progress. Got the mounting solution complete for the shifter lever, and brake and throttle pedals. Now working on a cable gyro system for the clutch cable which can be seen in the picture below. I could go with a magnetic hall sensor that is integrated into the clutch lever but I'm trying to retain the feel of using a cable.

looks good do the gyros they have on BMX bikes or similar work?
