Please forgive my elementary questions, but my only gaming/sim experience has been with iRacing, so downloading updates and mods is new for me.

I purchased and downloaded KRP through Steam.

I just discovered that there was a recent update, 11c. AFAIK I was never notified of this update, or any of the 11 series updates. I had no idea they had occurred.

Because I purchased through Steam I went to Steam to check on my current version. The only info I found was a list of update announcements. I right-clicked on KRP in my Steam library listing and opened properties, to try to find my version listing. I didn't find a version listing but I did find that my Steam KRP is set up to auto-update. I checked the c:/ program files (X86) / Steam / steamapps / common / Kart Racing Pro directory. In that directory I see a "kart" application file that was modified on 5/29 20. I assume this means I am launching the latest build?

When I came into this forum to check for update info I saw the post regarding the 11c update, and the links for downloading and "how to update". Since the "how to" instructions included a comment that I needed to "backup addons" I got concerned, as I have downloaded many tracks, paints, engines, etc over the last weeks. However, I believe these instructions pertain to someone who purchased/downloaded from a source other than Steam?

Also, I am confused because sometimes I am told to go to documents/PiBoSo/Kart Racing Pro, but I don't think that is relevant if I bought/downloaded from Steam? I've been downloading mods to the Steam local files for KRP, c:/ program files (X86) / Steam / steamapps / common / Kart Racing Pro.

Again, I apologize for my ignorance. I'm learning quickly but can't get my head around some of these issues.

THANKS!

So let me get this straight, you purchased the game through steam. Steam is set to auto update the game. There were updates to the game, and an update was installed a matter of days ago.

So what exactly is the problem here?

If you bought it through steam and set it to auto update, you dont have to mind about updating the sim yourself.

For the steam version, you can install the mods via the steam folder (as you did) or via the documents / mods folder. Both work fine usually. You did everything correct! ;)
