Xbox 360 steering wheel settings

The kart in game doesn't seem to be responsive to the wheel input especially along straights, My advice on what I'm doing wrong??

make sure your degrees of rotation is set to 180 in game and try changing the set up so the ratio and ackerman on the other tab are both set to minimum
