Can't see the UI in VR

Unless there's a setting somewhere that I can't find - there's certain UI elements that aren't visible when racing in VR mode (Oculus Rift in my example). The notifications/chat at the top is cropped, and it's impossible to view the MaxHUD telemetry.

Would it possible to make these "unsticky" so that they have a fixed position regardless of where you move your head?
