You need to download PaintEd from the main page here. Then you have to click Dir Read in PaintEd, find the directory where your download paint is and click Pack. From there you need to save it in Kart Racing Pro\karts\kc1\paints\ with the name tk_body.tga. You'll probably have to create the karts, kc1, and paints folders.

The file is a .pnt file, so its already compressed.  All you have to do is go to your kart racing pro folder, create a folder called "karts."  In that karts folder, create a folder called "kc1".  In the kc1 folder create a folder called Paints.  Drop the 2010Kosmic.pnt file in that final folder.

No, you don't open the file, you must copy it to the folder.  See the post I made above this one.
