Alot of those observations are funny and i agree with the ducking for cadet drivers, because most of them their heads barely see ive the wheel. I do think ducking works though, scientific  study has shown it, especially in a drafting situation. I cant find the orginal italian site but here is a source with the orginal cfd analysis images.
I also think this is why Nyck De Vries seemed to have such an advantage in karting. He was so small in the full size karts that the air deflected by the fairing went over head whereas with other drivers their helmet and chest trapt alot of air.  Not to mention Nyck muat of had a very low center gravity.  They probably had to increase his ride height ro get the kart to jack into corners.

Notice how the air preasure on the face of the helmet is decreased and the air trapt behind the fairing and in front of the drivers chest is almost gone.  One alternative would be to angle the kart seat back more like you see on road course karts, But that hurts the handling of the kart.  An alternative would he the" supertuck"or the "lazy boy"as shown here: http://forum.kartracing-pro.com/index.php?topic=1931.0
The legs become an extension of the width of the fairing deflecting more air over the slouched driver.
