Menu freezing effect

Hello.

I am a new user to this excellent simulator, running a demo mode for now.

The weird thing I noticed, the menus are slow -- in the sense that they make the computer appear frozen on screen transitions.
Like, when you press a button to get to the next screen, for a few seconds the cursor stops reacting to mouse moves and the PC appears to hang.

If it's not possible to "free" the mouse cursor during screen loads, maybe it would be a good idea to turn the mouse pointer into hourglass, just to let the user
know the game is doing fine, just loading some data?

+1 100% agree. The loading needs to be spawned off onto a thread, with visual feedback for loading. Ideally, the menu's should load very fast and then any other CPU intensive resources (like 3D views of the driver/kart) are loaded asynchronously inside that window.
