To create a new bodywork:
1: decide on a new ID for your bodywork ( for example, "cage" ) and which chassis and category you want it to be compatible with.
2: create a new folder in the "bodyworks" directory, and name it as the ID.
3: inside the new folder, create an INI file, a CFG file and a GEOM with the same name of the ID ( for example, cage.ini, cage.cfg, cage.geom ).
4: create another text file, named gfx.cfg
5: open the 4 text files and copy data from an existing bodywork.
6: in the INI file, set "chassis_type" to the proper value

0: T chassis
1: T chassis with metal rear bumper
2: C chassis
3: C chassis with metal rear bumper
4: B chassis
5: B chassis with metal rear bumper
6: C mini chassis

7: in the INI file, set "type" to the ID ( unless the bodywork is a modified version of an existing bodywork, sharing the same paints ).
8: in the INI file, set "name" to a name you choose ( for example, "Roll Cage" ).

This is just an introduction. Feel free to ask for more info.

For the number plate to work correctly, create and assign a 128x128 texture with name prefix "w_" ( for example, w_plate.tga ).
Then set the texture name in the file gfx.cfg

Please make sure to set the correct "type" in the CFG file:
T: type = tk_mb
C: type = nl_mb
B: type = fl_mb

Unless you create new karts with a new "type".

use gradients. then change the type to fade from solid to transparent in the top left (second from left drop down).

Any idea how to make a template for your own bodyworks?

+  how do you make it solid

UVW unwarp. Larents knows best though. What do you name them so they can have paints applied?

yes evo ist right. then you have to try out several methods to make a nice template but its quite easy. for the best result, select of your spoiler for example, where you can see, this is split up with an edge just like pibosos templates. then just try the quick peel option in the edior and drag it and size it how you need it. its quite easy.
what do you mean with solid?
