lag issues? please help

I have recenlty bought a laptop to play this game with my mates, but for some reason it lags quite heavily even though the guy at the shop said it would be more than capable to run it.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Could you please post the hardware specs of the computer?
Are graphics drivers updated?

My specs are:

i have windows 7

over 6GB RAM memory
Intel Core i5-2450 M CPU @ 2.50GHz  (4CPUs)
DirectX 11

i have not touched the graphics drivers as the Laptop is brand new from the shelf

i dont currently have the full list with me at the moment, is there anything else you may need to know?

What is the graphics chip?

the chip type is called an Intel HD graphics Family

the DAC type is internal and the total approx. memory is 1696mb.

Unfortunately Intel chips are entry-level and not recommended for gaming.
