for me probably becuase i am using my laptop webcam it stops working then starts again.

UPDATE
it started working in KRP for a litlte and was great fun.  In your settings you disabled pitch?
I am bathing my self in light to get this thing to work right lol

yes it works without a prob in the daytime but my lighting is not good  at night so it tends to be a bit  choppy..
in the options/keyboard shortcuts ive used the axis inhibitor and only have yaw working (every thing but yaw is ticked)and it works alot beter at night...
if i look at my web cam its not the best picture so i will get a ps3 eye it works at upto 120htz ive only got 30htz on my hd9000

The key to this is a good webcam and a good pc,,.. facetrack noir is also heavy on the cpu ...
http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/manual/knownissues.htm

There are a few problems that cause low framerates to occur.

Web-cam: SeeingMachines has provided a (small) trouble-shooting 'guide', which you can find on the left. In the web-cam section we also describe ways to improve web-cam performance.

CPU-load: SeeingMachines states that a 'Dual core PC' is required to operate faceAPI. We think that this is indeed true. Besides the CPU-load caused by faceAPI itself, games can have a profound influence on CPU-performance. The faster the PC, the better!

I tried to limit facetrack output to the range i would actaully have in a kart but i was still able to do a exorsists 360 degree head turn.

is it possible to assign the tuck gesture to a head movement?
I read that track IR users had some methods of mouse emulation for head movements

Hey,    Hows about this one  http://www.free-track.net/english/  with this one you have to do a bit of diy all is explained.. its a homemade trackir
this one is not so proccesor gready... ive downloaded it and it all looks good for fine adjustments.. beter than facetracknoir..  will look into this one ...

EVO

please post your experience and settings with this program sounds interesting.  I would test it but, im really busy working on tracks.

With the equipment and lighting Ive got , facetracknoir is not good enough, (its got to be more stable and accurate) but Ive yet to try it on a second machine by the end of next month  i can do this. As in its present state its quite  cpu intensive  maybe this will improve performance

As for freetrack with a modded webcam and leeds. Ive yet to make the leeds and destroy a perfectly good webcam.. ( both of the tracking systems both recommend the ps3 eye cam this is said to improve quality no end  so my first purchase if i go down this route.... about 40 euros...)

Ive read that you can use the led system from trackir  http://www.flightstore.co.uk/trackclip-pro.asp/simulation (this will clip onto you headphones)  with the free track system  so there's another 30 euros for a better improvement.... or make it myself for about 20 euros

So a question @ PiBoSo
Which system have you used and is there any thing that you can do to help ...(maybe in the setting of the game we need to fine tune facetracknoir.. or is this a a setting that can only be controlled through the facetrack interface)
I would expect a system like trackir4 to work perfectly on Kart Race Pro...(Ive had a go in a shop and it worked so good...)
I'm so tempted to buy it buy its a lot of money...for about 100 euros you can get a second hand trackir4 with proclip for guaranteed results..

No tracking hardware was used during development, just FreeTrack demo mode.
TrackIR is not supported in KRP, and unfortunately it will not be as long as it is needed to sign a contract just to download the SDK.

Looks like the first 2 options then ... thanks for the heads up.. PiBoso..

hi Evo, ive been testing facetrack noir and decieded my webam is not good enough to produce a smooth relaible head track. i get 30fps it stays green but it very tempremental...
As for free track , this looks the beter option but you have to mod your webcam and make a led hat mechanism..(you are making your own trackir)
having wactched many youtube clips , it looks more stable so this is the option to look at next...
As for lighting i just try and get my face lit up from all angles.. this is were freetrack works alot better  as the lighting is not so important as you have led to the rescue... these thing do take time  to test ill report back if i get freetrack up and  running..,.

Tried facetrackNOIR, got it to work in the settings, used your settings rupe, but nothing in krp?

EDIT: Ok got it to work in krp, but with game protocol free mouse look and free mouse look in krp aswell. Can't really control the view, i have to turn my head alot and then it jumps to the very right/left and doesn't go back to the center.

in the curves setttings
set your input for yaw so that less input results in more virtual output
