Track Editing / Re: Track Conversion/ Help

Do you know about FBX2EDF? You should be able to export .fbx with 3ds Max and can then convert this to the needed formats.
It's included in the Track Tools: http://www.kartracing-pro.com/?page=downloads

On the download page you have to press either "Mirror 1", "Mirror 2" or "Mirror 3" to download the game.

I haven't tried myself, but these are the threads I know about:

Maybe one of them has some new information.
If you still can't get it to work, posting the contents of your cfg file or some details about your monitors might help.

how to download it

Press the link in post #24 page 2. Looks like this is the latest version. It's for beta7 so some words might be missing.

Support / Re: Pedal Problems

Have you found a solution for the problem in the meantime?
What else have you tried? I assume the same pedals already worked before in KRP. Did you change something so it didn't work anymore?
I can't exactly imagine what you mean by pedals being backwards and switching brake. Maybe you can explain a little bit better. Are pedals not recognised and do you hold them down when calibrating or when assigning?
Maybe you can create a new profile and try with that or delete the game (game folder and PiBoSo folder in "Documents") and reinstall.

I guess this is because of windows user rights when installing KRP to the standard folder "c:\program files (x86)". You can

  • open the editor as admin and then open the kart.ini with it
  • copy the kart.ini to the desktop for example, change it, then save it and copy it into the KRP folder again (overriding the old one)
  • change the user rights for the file or the whole KRP folder (I never tried this)
  • install the game to a folder "c:\games" for example to avoid problems like this

Hi!

I never had a problem like this so I can only guess.

In another thread you said your graphics card was updated. Is it possible that something else was updated as well (Windows maybe)?

Installing the game to an external hard drive first sounded a bit strange to me. Also I'm used to installing games to a folder "c:\games" for example to avoid problems with Windows user rights. I don't know whether this is still useful today, but you can try if you haven't done yet.

When you said it crashes before you can even enter your license key, maybe there is a problem creating a profile. In the KRP install folder there's a file "core.ini". You can try to set "[windows] compatibility" to "0". This will create your profile in the install folder instead of "\Users\..\Documents\PiBoSo\".

In the other thread LauZzZn already mentioned to change the resolution. For a new profile you can change this in the "kart.ini". Maybe also try windowed mode ("fullscreen=0").

Sooner or later some details about your pc might help.

Hi, you can try this:

But I would recommend to get a wheel or a controller at least.

Hi Sebastian,
you need to register here:
http://stats.kartracing-pro.com/register.php
Haven't you found this or are you having problems there?

Have you tried to forward ports?
I'm not sure this is absolutely necessary, because the few times I hosted a (dedicated) server (on GP Bikes) I didn't do that. And people were still able to connect.
On the GP Bikes forum I once read that when ports are succesfully forwarded the ping shows up for the clients. But I also cannot confirm this.
But you can try.
And can one of your friends try to host a server?

Do you still have a PC monitor to check whether the TV screen causes this problem?
I think you can just try. I would have started with lowering the graphic settings, as somebody in the other thread already proposed. After you deleted everything in your KRP folder I think you will start with standard settings already.
Also have you seen this thread: http://forum.kartracing-pro.com/index.php?topic=5480? Is or was your situation similar to this at any point?
Does the screen work well with other games?

I have no idea what the problem is, but a few questions:
Did you delete your profiles before reinstalling?
Did you change something that caused this behaviour? (I guess the game worked sometime before?)
In another thread you said you have problems with your TV screen. Have you already solved this before?

Track Editing / Re: Help with my home track

Hi RockBinkie,

it's possible to export from Blender (for example) using the fbx2edf converter. It's included in the Track Tools (http://kartracing-pro.com/downloads/tt.zip).

If you already have the track in Blender you will basically have to

  • name your objects according to the Track Creation Rules (http://docs.piboso.com/wiki/index.php/Track_Creation_Rules)
  • export the track to .fbx (the settings in the picutre below work)
  • use the fbx2edf converter to get a .trp and a .map file
  • set up the file structure and use TrackEd to create the race data (pit, grid and so on)

I don't know what you get out of RTB (materials for example) so maybe there would be some more things to change.
You could also start small and create a plane and simple objects in Blender to export to KRP to understand the process (it's not very difficult).

Also the links DRkarter97 posted should help. They contain a lot of information not only regarding 3ds max.

Just try from here or give some more details about what format the track is in and what kind of export options you have from RTB and 3D SimEd (I don't really know those programs).
Just ask if you have any further questions.

Edit:
In the attached picture FBX 6.1 ASCII is used. I recently noticed that it's possible to use "FBX 7.4 Binary" as well. It is more up to date and uses the texture applied with material instead of the texture loaded in the UV/Image Editor (as "ASCII" does). "Binary" uses a scale of 1.
