I can't get Rye to work on my server. Every other track works just fine. What's the track name I need to type to dedi.ini?

Good read about ffb strenght. Author is a developer of sim (Game Stock Car 2012) that have one of the best, if not the best, ffb in the market.

Mika Salo Circuit would be awesome addition to KRP too. But I take any, good quality, Finnish track someone makes.
I would love to learn how to make tracks myself, but unfortunately I can't commit hours needed due to my very bad back (old sports injury). I can hardly make one skin and then it's usually couple of days agonizing back pain.

Kimzu if you wanna take that Pippo project later, after you've finished Lentola, that's just fine. I'm no hurry. I have plans to stay with KRP for long time.

Check this pic and make your own decision wich wheel you should buy.

Fanatec have, without a doubt, better pedals but when it comes to wheel it's T500 all the way. But of course everyone makes their own decisions.

Anyone interested to do this track? I don't drive karts irl, except couple of times with my cousins car back in 80's, but this is my hometown track and the place I did those couple of times. Would be awesome to be able to drive this in KRP. Layout looks interesting too. And it is one of the top ones here in Finland.

I can traslate finnish to english if needed.

If you're interested and need more info let me know. I'll try to help as much as possible.

Suggestions and wishlist / Re: Rolling starts

After doing a few races I have some suggestions. The speed you are going on the formation lap put it in the center of the screen so you are not trying to drive and look for the small number at the bottom corner at the same time. Make the start a little more obvious. Give the leader a green light when he crosses the yellow line. I did not even know about the yellow line until I asked others. Right now it takes going through multiple starts to figure out what to do. I think it was three before I figured out when I could start moving. Then another couple more to figure out when I could actually start racing. Do we expect everyone to go through failing at least a half dozen starts before they get one good one to give the game a chance? I know the goal is to have a true simulation, maybe the game needs to have a good explanation of how the starts work to keep newcomers from getting frustrated and not using KRP. The starts need to be looked at from the point of view of someone that has never raced karts before. Make them blatantly obvious or have the resources in the game to explain how they work.

General Discussion / Re: Realism and fun

I wouldn't be so worried about people leaving. It's always like that with games in open beta stage. People always come back when new build is released. Maybe not all, but many of them I'm sure. This is already a quality product that needs some tweaks and polishing, and maybe some new features, but good enough to bring people back to check new releases.

I see nothing but bright future for this great sim, agree me or not I don't really care.

Did you drive a kart once in real Life Pentti?

Couple of times year back. Like I said I compared this sim to all other sims I've ever driven before and in that case this is very quality product.

Quotebecause i hear that this sim wants to be a training tool as well. ;)

No one said this sim is already finished. And if you don't have working multiplayer there's not much to practice racing as well. ;)

Well I for one am having a blast with this sim. I have wide experience of sims/racing games from 20 years time and compared to that KRP holds very well. Physics might not be perfect but definately driveble. This game doesn't have AI feature so getting multiplayer to work is definately highest priority to keep this sim going.

Knowing that this is one mans show, I must say, excellent job so far piboso. One of the best spent euros in year 2012 for me. And I'm pretty sure that I'm not alone with my thoughts.

I've never understood people using over 100% FFB. Every game I've ever tried/played has been absolutely horrible with over 100% FFB. Stiffer steering does not equal realism.

Other day I tried KRP with 100+ % ffb, and even 105 felt much worse than 100. Actually in many sims I lower the ffb, but in KRP 100% feels just right. Might be good to mention that I'm using T500 RS with 60% strenght in TM control panel.

ive seeen much more plastic wheels then the G27,  60% Metal steering wheel, metal Paddles, metal button Pad, metal Peddles, metal gearstick stick, metal screws on Gearstick and wheel witch make it look good in my opinion.  Im not saying the G27 is better then the TH8RS,  Can you show us photo's and specs of it? ???

Well first of all I was only talking about shifter stick part of G25/G27. Everything else is quality stuff and mostly metal, important parts anyways. But gearstick is definately not on par with other stuff. I used G25 for some years and loved it, so don't get me wrong, I'm not mocking up anything of it. I also have quite a lot experience with all kind of wheels, exept those really high end ones, so this is not fanboy talk. It's just a fact that TH8RS is way ahead compared to G25/G27 shifter unit.

Don't have camera so can't take pictures, sorry, but found you a nice review for it.

Plastic Shifter? g27 doesnt have a plastic shifter?   the paddles are all metal and the gearstick is plastic at the top but it has a metal stick.

Well G25/27 definately have more plastic than metal in it. And compared to TH8RS it have very plastic feel too.

Same prices for me as I'm Finnish too :D

Sorry for little bit finnish:

Verkkokauppa.comissa näyttäs olevan RS tosi hyvään hintaan, tosin pitkä tomitus aika. Mä tilasin paikalliseen kodinkoneliikeeseen, sain sieltä hyvän diilin. Ja cdon.comissa oli F1 lisäri 120,-, se oli sillon paras hinta ku ite ostin.

/end of strange language. Trust me, I said nothing but good things about you all. ;)

But I have experience with both Logitech G25 and Thrustmaster T500 RS in KRP, and imo T500 beats G25 hands down in every way. G25 (and G27, as it's pretty much the same wheel) is good wheel but not even close to same level with T500.
I'm clad to hear that as I'm going to change my G27 and T500 is just the one that I'm interested! I have already bought the TH8RS and that's a brilliant shifter! TH8RS beats G27's plastic shifter so easily in every way. And it has not just the H-pattern but the sequential too which I use quite a lot!

I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Also if you drive lots of open wheelers with paddle shifters you might want to consider getting F1 addon wheel for it. In T500 RS paddles are stationary, doesn't rotate with wheel, and are pretty impossible to use with cars that needs fast steering. I got the addon aswell and must say it's pretty awesome. Of course you can buy F1 version of T550 straight away but compare prices. For example here in Finland it was cheaper to buy T500 RS first and F1 addon for it later than to buy F1 version and then GT rim for it later. A bit stupid but that's how it was.
