General Discussion / Forum behaviour

I keep coming back to the forum because watching this game is like watching a fuse burn down on a collection of explosives with the final product either being taddzy as global mod or this game finally dieing. And what connor said was all true just worded in a harsh way as a cheeky way of proving the point that I wasn't being harsh.

It looks like you have no plans to contribute to the project and are here just to troll.
No need for you to still have a forum account, right? You can keep reading and have fun even as a guest.
If this is the case, then your account and all your messages will be deleted.

Edit:
DrKarter97 account and messages deleted.

Documentation / Disable joystick input
July 24, 2015, 11:30:40 PM
Starting with Beta14, it is possible to disable an input of a joystick.
This could be useful, for example, to disable a broken potentiometer that is outputting noise.

The file joysticks.cfg is automatically read at startup.
It is possible to add multiple joysticks: "name" is the name of the joystick as it appears in the "Calibration" page of Kart Racing Pro.
The names of the inputs are the same of the calibration page:

x, y, z, rx, ry, rz
slider1, slider2
pov1 to pov4
button1 to button32

The default joysticks.cfg disables the buttons linked to the triggers of the PS4 pad, so that it is possible to assign them as analog inputs.

Other Addons / Bodyworks
November 14, 2013, 04:41:17 PM
To create a new bodywork:
1: decide on a new ID for your bodywork ( for example, "cage" ) and which chassis and category you want it to be compatible with.
2: create a new folder in the "bodyworks" directory, and name it as the ID.
3: inside the new folder, create an INI file, a CFG file and a GEOM with the same name of the ID ( for example, cage.ini, cage.cfg, cage.geom ).
4: create another text file, named gfx.cfg
5: open the 4 text files and copy data from an existing bodywork.
6: in the INI file, set "chassis_type" to the proper value

0: T chassis
1: T chassis with metal rear bumper
2: C chassis
3: C chassis with metal rear bumper
4: B chassis
5: B chassis with metal rear bumper
6: C mini chassis

7: in the INI file, set "type" to the ID ( unless the bodywork is a modified version of an existing bodywork, sharing the same paints ).
8: in the INI file, set "name" to a name you choose ( for example, "Roll Cage" ).

This is just an introduction. Feel free to ask for more info.

kart.exe -dedicated (port number) [-set params (config_file)]

for example:
kart.exe -dedicated 54410 -set params challenge.ini

Configuration file must be in installation path.
If not set SERVER.INI is used.

Format:
[server]
type = 1

[connection]
name =
maxclient =
password =
whitelist = ; the filename of the whitelist
blacklist = ; the filename of the blacklist

[export]
results =  ; html or xml. If set it will automatically export results for each client at the end of the challenge
directory = ; the directory where results will be saved ( must exist )
units =  ; 0 -> metric units, 1 -> English units

[event]
name = ; the name of the event ( optional )
track = ; track ID ( for ex. Lonato )

IMPORTANT: results are sent from the client to the server only at the end of the session, when the chat message "Server Data Transfer Start" and "Server Data Transfer End" are displayed.

The whitelist and blacklist use a text file using the following format:
[entry0]
guid = ........

[entry1]
guid = ........

[entry2]
steamid = ........
The GUID can be read in the "Profiles" page.
Optionally, it is possible to replace "guid" with "steamid", to use the Steam ID number instead.
Whitelist only: it is possible to set, for each entry, the name, add a prefix to the name ( for example a team "tag" ) and force the kart.
Also, it is possible to set a custom string, up to 18 character long, that is added to the XML results export.
[entry0]
guid = ........
name = ...
name_prefix = ...
kart_id = ...
extra = ........

In the challenge server text input it is possible to execute commands:
"!restart" to reset the server
"!whitelist update" to reload the whitelist file
"!blacklist update" to reload the blacklist file
Text can be sent to the challenge server from remote, too: http://forum.kartracing-pro.com/index.php?topic=7736.0

NOTE: a license is not needed to start a challenge server.
