Bug reports / Re: Steering judder
April 10, 2012, 05:37:03 PM
I'm already using a fair amount of polys. Do I really need even more than this? The judder doesn't feel like the track is bumpy, it's more like there's just too much grip.

Bug reports / Steering judder
April 10, 2012, 05:03:50 PM
Hi,

I've noticed a small bug with KRP's physics.

On tracks which have elevation change mid corner, I've noticed that the steering judders quite a lot. It's most noticeable with uphill corners, particularly if they're cambered (but also sometimes on steep downhill corners as well). It's not anything major, I just think it needs looking at.

Cheers,
Dave.

Track Editing / Spec Maps
April 10, 2012, 05:00:08 PM
Hi guys,

Quick question: I want to add a spec map to the tarmac on my track. I add it in BTB and it looks great in rFactor. When I convert the track to KRP though, I add the spec map in the 3DSMax material editor, but no matter what I do I can't get the nice track shine in KRP that I get in rFactor. Could someone possibly walk me through how to do it?

Cheers,
Dave.

Bug reports / Re: Loss of FFB after a few laps

Since I upgraded my PC I was able to bring Buckmore into 3DMax myself. I'm working on it but it's a very big track, and I've been very busy with other stuff recently.

When it's done I will post on here.

General Discussion / Re: what is this track

Rye House has recently been changed - the apex curb at Stadium (the first corner) is now a very wide, flat painted strip of concrete instead of a proper curb. Also, it is all concrete/tarmac to the right on the exit of the hairpin, there shouldn't be any grass there at all.

Other than that, looks very good. Can't wait to try it - have driven there many times myself!

Laser scanned tracks would be amazing. BTB has this option i think.
The laser scanned tracks in rFactor were created using a special version of BTB which was modified to import laser scanned data. Considering that the developer of BTB is pretty much inactive online now, I doubt we could convince him to let us use it. And even if we could, laser scanning equipment is very expensive.

I'd just be happy with the ffb problem being fixed tbh :)

Any chance of the FFB dropping out at some tracks being fixed at all?

It happens much more frequently on tracks where there are two overlapping pieces of tarmac (usually caused by having multiple layouts in Bob's Track Builder) however it does also sometimes happen on other tracks, for example on one of my tracks where I have welded two tracks together after importing into 3DSMax and deleted the tarmac underneath, it still happens occasionally.

Bug reports / Loss of FFB after a few laps

Hi,

I've noticed a bug with KRP which I thought had been pretty much fixed with Beta 4, but which is now even worse with Beta 5. After doing 1, maybe 2 laps I lose FFB completely. It's usually after going over a bump or a curb. It happens with my setup at home (Driving Force GT) and the one on the simulator we're running KRP on, which has a FREX wheel. With Beta 4 it happened much less frequently, but now I've downloaded Beta 5 it's exactly the same as it was with Beta 3.

Is there any chance of this being fixed for the next release?

Thank you!

All working now. (Not sure why it didn't in the first place - I definitely clicked close when I created the centerline!)

Hi,

I edited the racedata and made sure all of the pit areas were in the right places, but now when I try to load the track I get a windows error message:

I could upload the track if that would help?

Can anyone suggest anything? Is there a way I can find out what the error is? Maybe in a log file or something? I don't get why the game would crash and not even give me a hint as to why.

Sorry if I come across as impatient but I am creating the track for a simulator and I really would like to have the track up and running tomorrow.
