No, it isn't for people who speak English as a second language.

Lower your ride height back down to standard, add grip depending where you want it with other settings, personally I try keep the center of gravity as low as possible.
Thanks Cory

I know I can do this, but I am here to point out the physics bug more so than find a setup work around :)

Bug reports / Kart COG or Tyre Edge Grip?
February 12, 2016, 12:49:08 AM
Hi Piboso

I have built my home track and have been playing it a lot, this could be a part of the problem of course.

Anyway as I have been working on the setup, I have found that raising the ride height has generated more grip (as you would expect) and made for better laptimes in this case.
However I am at times able to roll the kart over at corner entry. This is a very fast roll over too - I lift off the brakes, and as I turn in the kart will lift up on the inside and just keep going over from there, as even when it is at a 45deg angle it still seems to be making enough grip to provide that roll over torque.

As seen in this video:
https://youtu.be/vCXWSWEA6eY

I thought about the issue and two thoughts came to mind:
1) Centre-of-gravity must be higher than expected to generate such a large torque to roll the kart
2) Once the kart starts rolling, tyre contact patch should decrease enough for the 2 wheels still touching the ground to slip and drop the kart back down, rather than sustain the amount of torque required to continue rolling the kart over.

I am no expert in this subject matter, but in my life I have only rolled a kart once - and that was due to a bearing carrier failure which careened me over a banking. It is hard to do and experiencing it just from the normal forces during corner entry in KRP struck me as unusual! Naturally I thought it would be right to mention, as this sim is great and I like the way it is improving all the time, it would be great to contribute to such a good project and so here I am posting about a potential for improvement :)

Please see video in the link, and the setup I used in that video provided as an attachment. I can attach the track files if you want to do some of your own testing too.

Cheers,

Track Editing / Re: New Zealand kart tracks
February 02, 2016, 08:19:47 AM
Hey mate it has been a few years since you posted, but I thought I would let you know...

I have made taranaki, the textures look like shit and there are no assets like buildings or flag points etc... just the fences around the track. I will be attempting to do all WPKA tracks first as I have raced these. Then I will do Te Puke since I've been around that track a few times.

Over the next year or so I plan to get to Hamilton and Rotorua and see what they're like.

I have built taranaki on race track builder using google maps and elevation data... if you do the same for your tracks I can put them through blender and make them all work on KRP.

Let me know if you're keen. You will have to do some of the work building them on RTB, then send the .fbx and textures through to me and I will get them set up.

Keen??

Thanks DRKarter that fixed it :)

And wow my scale is way out haha. Glad that's not too hard to fix!

Thanks for your replies guys

I have made sure these things are right already :)

Guess it couldn't hurt to check my object names again in case I have made a typo!
My textures are all .tga's with 2^x resolutions
My AMB file has the same name as my .trp file

I have reused the skydomes from lonato, but I've just found out they don't display in mapview, perhaps that could be an issue?

For good measure though I guess I should ask, I have named all my objects as TRKASPH_0001, _0002, etc
Would my suffix be causing an issue?

Thanks for all the suggestions, once I get it loading correctly I will work on getting it looking real good and hopefully make it available :) in the end, my goal is to produce all the tracks I've raced on in NZ to make them available to the rest of the world.

Hi guys

Thanks for all your help. I have had a bit of time to work on this over the last week.

KRP is loading my track, but it is pitch black. Any clues as to what I've done wrong to cause this?
I figure I must have missed something to do with lighting as I can drive my kart forward and smash into some object.

Thanks :)

Track Editing / Help with my home track
January 01, 2016, 03:41:12 AM
Hi all

This is my first time building an asset for any game.

I have made my home kart track with RTB, it works great with Assetto Corsa and geometrically and graphically looks great - but really I built it so I could play it in Kart Racing Pro.
This is where the issues arise for me - I'm finding it quite a challenge to make the conversion. Assetto Corsa was very easy to make a track for, but perhaps KRP falls into the advanced category? (or I am noob - this is definitely half the problem)

The software I have available is:
- Blender
- 3DsimED 3
- Race Track Builder

All tutorials I've looked at say I need 3DSmax - I cannot afford this, is it possible to do with the tools mentioned above?

Could a very helpful person here outline the exact steps (in noob language) that I need to take to make this happen?
I would like the make this model available to all members of my kart club (and all KRP players too of course!) so that they can play our track on Kart Racing Pro at home.

Thanks,
RockBinkie

Support / In Setup Menu Crash
April 22, 2015, 10:09:31 AM
Hi

I just downloaded the demo and I am having an issue when I exit a setup menu. I have tried this on the settings menu, I set up my wheel and graphics, but when I click done the program crashes.
The same happens when I create a profile, click done and the game crashes to a black screen which I am unable to exit out of.

I still have use of my PC after this, I can click the start bar, open programs from the start menu, open taskmanager etc. but the black screen remains focussed on top of everything I open so I have to restart my PC.

Any solutions here? Is this a known issue? I would like to buy this game, so any solutions you have would be good :)

System specs:
Windows 8.1
8GB Ram
Intel i5 CPU
AMD R9270x GPU
OS is running off an SSD, but game is running off an HDD.

Could the game running off a separate disk cause an issue? I wondered if it could be an issue with saving settings, but it is looking for the game files on C: drive instead of D:... I am no expert ;P

Looking forward to hearing a solution

Cheers,
RockBinkie
