It's not a big deal to put new/additional tracks on the server. We just didn't want to "release" old versions ;-)
So if we are already up2date with the versions we can make the script available to public :-)
If we wouldn't be up2date on the serverside the script would have started  to overwrite newer versions on the clientside with the older ones from the serverside.

By now it's just a sync-script based on rsync to keep your tracks-folder synced with the one on the gameserver. If you have additional tracks installed this shouldn't be a problem, nothing should be deleted. Also it's not a problem if you have the tracks already installed, rsync should notice it and just skip the download.
We can extend the script easily for karts etc., but for now we will just start with the tracks-folder. Propably we will add the language-files in the next version, but i have to check the files first.

The first run can take some time as there are already 2GB of tracks. Every further execution of the script should just check if there are new tracks, so it's much faster.


I will post the install-instructions in english and german, but they are also included in the .zip.

Copy the folder '!krpsync' into your KartRacingPro installation.
The folder '!krpsync' has to be copied in its entirety.

Folder structure:

Execute
-------
Change to the folder '!krpsync' and execute the file 'krpsync.cmd'
(double-click). The program synchronize the folder 'tracks'
with the KartRacingPro servers of the Bier-Buden.
Only modified and new files are transfered!

The program can be stop with Ctrl+C. Already transfered files
remain on your disk.

Hey Guys!

Yesterday Oelfuss updated our servers to Beta9.
As we haven't played KRP for a few month now maybe the tracks may be outdated in the versions...
It would be nice if we would get some proposals wich tracks are missing and wich are maybe outdated.
There is a screenshot attached wich tracks are actualy on the server. The file- & folderdates aren't really correct because of some copy & paste actions.
Our plan is to offer a small sync-script wich downloads and install all the tracks we are using on this server automaticly. But it wouldn't make much sense if our own server is outdated
That way it would much easier for new people to join the server.

Proposals are very welcome

Hmmm, it seems like gmx hasn't accepted e-mails from this site the last few months...
At least i got no notifications about posts in this topic...
Have changed the mailadress here now, maybe it works this time.

I uploaded the last tracks to the "big" fileserver.
As we are still in the progress of recoding some "big stuff" the database will stay where it is for now (in my livingroom)...
If our other coding-stuff is finished we will also host the krp-db on our normal server
By now i just move the big files to the fileserver, so anyone should have an acceptable download-speed.
Sorry that it has taken so long for now, but as i wrote no emails have arrived here for posts in this topic neither for pm's.
Maybe there is something wrong with the mailserver PiBoSo?

EVERYONE can upload there. U can download on this page without register. If u registrer u can upload tracks, paints and helmets. So everyone could update it. There are 17 people registered but only 2 loaded up there.
We have preview pics, u can type a info and the download is fast. So what u want more? But if u guys think u could do it better, feel free.

I guess that's the point wich is not clear for everyone...
So, everyone can register one the site to make his own uploads. They just need to be checked by one of the administrators and set to be published. Thats just for security-reasons (not using it as a illegal filesharing-platform), and should be no problem.
By now Oelfuß, robby, Schwoni and myself can check the uploads.
So if you upload something just write one of us a pm and it should be checked & published quiet soon, or just wait until one of the administrators is online on the download-page and it will also be checked
My intention was to build a page where the community can easily make a complete download-page by itself... It just needs to be used by the people
So feel free to update the missing stuff by yourself on the site, that safes a lot of work for everyone... Uploading content should be not so difficult.

i'm just uploading the file to the "fast" server and adjusting the Download-Link. I will also put the Track on the bier-buden.de gameserver tonight
And i hope on sunday night i'm able to let some rubber on the track

After a long time i finally switched the download-backend.
The files are now hosted on our fileserver. Just the website is still in my livingroom
So the downloads should work with much more speed now.
If you have any suggestion for new tracks just write them down here in this thread.
By now i don't have the time to search all over the forums to get a complete list.
Schwoni is also able to put the tracks on the server. And it's a quick thing to change the download-location to the bier-buden fileserver.

The track should be updated now!
Sorry for the delay, but we have a lot of work to do on the bierbuden at the moment. But also KRP is on our ToDo-List... That means -> It will also recieve some download-space etc. again on some of our "big" servers. By now the site is running in my livingroom, that's not really a perfect solution

Maybe for a later version a solution for adding the tracks without the .ini would be nice (with some small graphical interface like it's done in the other race-simulation dedicated servers perhaps).

Are your servers stable when an admin-user changes the track from KRP? I had sometimes a dedcated server crash when I tested this feature.

Yes, sometimes our servers also crash on trackchange. But we have addon-tracks on the servers since day 1... So i can't say for sure if it's an overall problem or maybe just track-related

In my opinion it would be nice if a dedicated server not just restarts the same track after the race is finished. A track rotation (maybe alphabetical) would be nice.
Maybe also just a optional one with a parameter set in the ini-file. "trackrotation = 1" oder "trackrotation = 0" for example.

Yesterday i found a problem with the CMS... The files were renamed a bit and spaces were translated to "_"...
I changed the code a bit and now everything should work. I updated all the files, so there shouldn't  be any further problems.
Btw, now every track has a screenshot

Please use it FAIR for other people on the server! If the dedi crashes (happens sometimes, especially with some addon-tracks) just drop me a mail and i will restart it asap.
If it there will be to much trouble with the public password we change it and just give it to some better known people

I've a lot of exams etc. in the university right now... So there is not much time for racing.
But next week i'm back on track i guess 
Btw.: I need to finish a lap on targa florio (rFactor) before i can go karting again

The temperature was ~27°C. So nothing special. And the "change" were just for a very short period. We drove some more laps in the same session and didn't had a chance to get these times again. I also guess that it must have been something on the server-side because it happens to both of us... But no idea what was causing the problem.
Maybe it's also just a problem with the track, who knows... But it was very strange at all.
But for sure it would be nice to see these times deleted so that we can make realistic ones
