Track Editing / Few questions for an indoor track.
December 31, 2019, 11:36:10 AM
Hello guys, I write you here because I am currently converting another of my rFactor tracks (this one will more than probably stay private but it's one of the biggest indoor center in the world) and I'd need some help to make it work properly. Most of the track has been redesigned for the new layout, it works correctly in thje game without too much trouble but I haven't put the roof in the building yet.

Indeed, some parts of the track (close to the walls) are already very dark and I suppose that if I put the roof on the sun won't cross it and I won't see anything. So my question is simple, what is the procedure to put some lightning ? I imagine it can be done because it works for the Nürburgring Kartbahn (that is included in the game's release). I've searched on this forum but couldn't find anything, otherwise I wouldn't have asked :D I need to precise that I am building the track in 3ds Max after a first work in BTB.

Also, my laps are not counted actually. I made the centerline, put the starting line and timing sectors like it should be, but it looks like the game feels I cut the track. I think the reason is that the corridors cross themselves as like an indoor track all is very close. So how can I reduce the width of the racing line part by part ? I'll give you a screenshot of the TrackEd (and the generated surface) once I'll be on my gaming computer again.

No need to answer very quickly it's not urgent at all, I just ask now because I may forget ;) I already wish you a happy new year (in which I'll have a lot of questions about modding as I really love all the possibilities of this game) !

Hello everyone, first I wish you a Merry Christmas. I am new here because I just bought the game recently, and I love it so much ! I was an active modder on rFactor 1 quite a long time ago, and I had made a few kart tracks. I decided to convert them  thanks to LauZzZn's tutorials (who knows who I am but not under this name).

The first good point is that I understood well most of the tutorial, as the tracks works quite well (it loads, timing is OK,...) so there is nothing major but some buuldings troubles. As I didn't know what to do with them, I put them in the WLLCONC object in 3ds Max. And so they appear, but with shadows making them very ugly, and also some missing polygons. And obviously, I didn't have this problem in rFactor, so I don't really know what's wrong (maybe is it because of the many conversions from DAE to FBX then to MAP file). It is not so easy to explain, and as it is also difficult to show this with screenshots (added at the end of this message) so you'd better judge by yourself...Please do not take care of the grey walls, it was invisible walls I used for rF1 and I know I'll have to delete them ;-)

Could someone help me correct this , so I can release my track publicly ? If you can help just PM me and I'll send you the files (max scene, original rFactor SCN and the whole KRP folder)  ;) Thanks in advance and thank you for your work !

EDIT : it looks like it is the same for some trees and other objects. Also something strange is the lines in the picture below...does the game create automatically some grid lines ? As I had already made it I don't want it :D
