Support / VR + Tuck (Oculus)
March 31, 2018, 07:46:28 PM
I use an Oculus and if I press the "Tuck" button parts of the tucked helmet appear in front of my view but my own view doesn't change. Whithout VR my view changes as expected.

Is it possible to combine the new "Driver Tracking" feature with VR? Or is it only for FreeTrack/ TrackIR and EDTracker? If I tuck my head with the Rift ("Driver Tracking" enabled) nothing happens.

Bug reports / Stats - Competitors Column [Solved]
July 22, 2017, 12:28:47 PM
there seems to be still a bug in the competitors column at the server page.

Despite there are two or more people at a server, either no name or only one name is displayed if you open the link.

I thought I should mention it because yesterday you wrote in "Daily development":

Bug reports / dedicated server bug [solved]
August 27, 2016, 01:58:43 PM
All [hardcore] settings in dedicated.ini are ignored in beta15. For non-dedicated servers it works as expected.

Small visual bug:
It's possible to use values > 255 minutes for practice and qualifying but then the info screen in 'Browse World' shows wrong values. When connected the correct values are displayed.

Off-Topic / PM notifications by email not working
May 05, 2016, 08:48:12 AM
@PiBoSo if you find time, can you have a look at it?

At the GPB/WRS forum notifications work fine but here it doesn't work since several months.

Tracks / [Release] Two (three) New Japanese Tracks
December 25, 2015, 10:56:36 AM
With permission of Yohji I've added the KRP versions of the three tracks to my database. ( http://forum.kartracing-pro.com/index.php?topic=4785.0 )

Tsumagoi and Southern Circuit are nice kart tracks. (tsumagoi.pkz, Southern.pkz)
Gunma Cycle Sport Center is a long mountain track, maybe better suitable for WRS but I've added it nevertheless. (gunsai.pkz)

Thanks to Yohji, aoitori and nui (miyapon).

General Discussion / Hotlap Server (beta)
August 18, 2015, 06:21:34 PM
ALIBASKINS from http://forum.motonline-france.com made a big present to Kartracing-Pro.  :)

The brand new KRP Hotlap/Bestlap server:
http://kartracing-pro.motonline-france.com/

The server is still beta but the GPBikes version http://gpbikes.motonline-france.com/ is running since long time and it's working fine.

Please help finding and reporting bugs. When everything works fine, other interested server hoster can use it to run their own hotlap challenges or simply record bestlaps.

The server is able to record bestlaps similar like the official KRP Stats page but you can also use all unregistered tracks and addon karts.

It is also possible to create weekly hotlap challenges with points for Fastest laptime, Theoretical best, Best 5 laps run, Highest speed and Most laps.

At the moment my "Hotlap-Pretest" server is connected and running a KZ1 (test) Hotlap-Event which ends at 2015-08-29 23:59:59.
If there is any interrest more test servers can be added.

General Discussion / Tyre Temperatures Beta12/13
April 08, 2015, 06:59:21 PM
Starting with beta 12 I've a problem to understand the relation between tyre pressure and the resulting temperatures.
Until beta 11 it was clear, lower pressure = lower temperatures but now it seems to be different.

An extreme example is driving at the Velodrom Oval. After two or three laps the tyres overheat (100°+ Celsius), doesn't matter which tyre pressure I choose. With beta 11 there was no problem runnung 20 laps.

Also at other tracks e.g. Kecskmet I can't find settings which stop overheating.

All my test were done with KZ1 karts.

Tracks / Suggestions for a track download area
November 06, 2014, 07:39:03 PM
Quote from: Marco Dakic on October 28, 2014, 05:39:09 PM
I Think we need a good Download Section where the Tracks easy to find and to Download, because nobody finds Released tracks in this forum without watched 50 Sites

Yes, it would help alot, especially for new members but also for everybody else in the forum.

Before we reinvent the wheel take a look at what has been realised for GPBikes and WRS. MEGA and Dropbox are payed Pro accounts and synchronised.
To ensure a good download quality for everyone there are two places because some people have problems with Mega and some with Dropbox.

https://mega.co.nz/#F!eNVSADpZ!a6u3dBMlFT8zw5x7K68eVg
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jw9811t7mlgx45f/AAB4mosTJ9QKRfK59bNC4xSoa

Everytime a new track is released it will be uploaded to both stores (if it's ok for the track author) and a forum message is posted in the 'Track Downloads' thread.
All tracks have release numbers (e.g. Lonato_V1.1) to avoid confusion if they are updated.

The system is running for a while now and it's working pretty well.

Racing / Open for all servers
October 29, 2014, 08:10:16 PM
JesusRB sent me a pm and apologised. He asked me to undo the blacklisting.
I'll give him and his friends a chance despite I know what happened in the past.

JesusRB and your friends, you can use the servers again but be aware that it's only a mouse click for me to ban you permanently and then no more excuses are accepted.

@The rest of the drivers - I hope you have a bit fun and if you want any changes at the servers, post here.
Please report immediately if there are new problems with JesusRB's group.

Racing / Hotlap Event II

After some weeks of beta9 here my subjective impressions about the latest dedicated servers.

positive:
+ Stability (server crashes) is better than in previous betas but still not really good
+ Much less lost connections to the master server. Servers run or crash (at least most time)
+ Much less login problems if other players already use the server.

negative:
- More sensible for higher pings >90ms (jumping karts)

The maximum number of players still needs to be tested with some serious tests.

Maybe some of the drivers which are often online can report their experiences here to help PiBoSo identify netcode problems.

Bug reports / Web-site doesn't show server
February 01, 2013, 09:26:33 PM
@PiBoSo
Random's test server 'Live Timing Test 00' is accessible from KRP's world screen but doesn't appear on the web-Site ( http://stats.kartracing-pro.com/servers.php )
The server already has been restarted but no success. I'm not sure when it disapeared (today/yesterday). 'Live Timing Test 01' and 'Live Timing Test 02' running at the same VM are working as expected. I've seen the same behaviour some weeks ago at one of the 'DrivingItalia.NET #x' servers.

Any idea?

Bug reports / Dedicated Server behaviour
April 12, 2012, 01:44:01 PM
I observed that dedicated servers in KRP now can loose connections without crashing kart.exe. It starts with people having problems to connect and after a while the server stops showing a ping in the world screen. But it stays listed on the web-site. Dedicated servers in GPBikes and earlier versions of KRP simply crashed.

The former behaviour was easy to control and you could (auto)restart the crashed exe. Now you have no control except looking at KRP's world screen.

I saw this behaviour several times in the last days, especially if more than 8-10 people used it. Yesterday it also happened to my server. For me everything looked good until I got Schwoni's message about problems.

Support / KS1 and Beta5
January 23, 2012, 08:09:05 PM
After 2 weeks of driving with the KS1 in Beta5 here my opinion.

General drivability:
At the beginning the sudden oversteer was a big problem. But now after adapting my setups I'm more or less used to the new behavior.
I'm still .4 to 1 seconds slower than in Beta4. The reasons may be my inability, my still not perfect setups or the changed torque.

Torque:
The new torque curve is more realistic. It's a new challenge because it doesn't forgive any mistakes in gear change.

Rev Limiter:
The absence of a rev limiter is ok, but as already stated by others it's not realistic how fast you kill the engine when starting in first gear.

Shifting:
This is still my big problem.
For upshifting you have to lift the throttle too much. An infinitesimal lift should be enough to shift.

Compared to Beta4 and especially to a real life shifter the downshifting in Beta5 is much more unreliable.
Especially if you fast shift down two or more gears it happens too often that you hear that short ugly noise of not synchronised gearwheels and the gear change was not successful. In the meantime I'm able to handle it on most tracks but it's not realistic.

An extreme example is Goldenport. There are three corners where I have to downshift twice. Maybe it's because the track is very bumpy, but I'm not able to drive a complete lap without this downshift problem. Even with completely released throttle and waiting between the two shifts it happens, sometimes even at the first shift. I made a test at other bumpy tracks like Buckmore and Amay and there are similar problems.
Do these bumpy tracks influence the downshift behavior?
I've attached a short replay of Goldenport. It's an attempt to shift from 5th to 3rd. You see that throttle is completely released and I downshifted twice. The first gear change was ok and at the second you hear that strange noise and I'm still in fourth gear.
