Not yet, I've convinced two friends we should buy a kart between us.

The wired xbox controller is compatible with windows (both Microsoft) The wireless one requires a USB dongle which you can buy on amazon.

Nice one, thanks!

I'd love to drive all the way there. It's 3000klm (all the way down to Alicante) which is only 3 fills of diesel each way in my car if I drive sensibly. But it would probably be a lot cheaper to fly and hire a car.

I'm looking into what to do in the area or what's the big must see attractions.

That's not to bad. As long as I don't forget, which I will.  ;D

I am Basque  :D Where are you planning to come?

I can help you with tracks, I know quite well the tracks near (300km) my home ;)
I'm not sure where and when I've only started planning now. My mother moved to the south of Spain years ago. I visit her regular so would like to see more of Spain next time I go over. I've been to Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia already so I've seen the major cities but I've heard the Basque region is very different from all those places.

Is there anywhere I can find a list of go kart tracks around the world or specifically in Europe?

I have one decent track near me http://www.pallaskarting.com/ but other than that I don't have the opportunity to kart. I want to be able to work in some karting sessions when I'm on holiday in the UK or Spain. I plan to go to the Basque region of Spain next but all the kart tracks I've found are in the south.

Is there anywhere in the UK that would let you try out the type of karts in KRP? Pallas karting near me has bigger outdoor ones (it's been a while since I've been there so I don't know what they are) they are fastest I've raced but I don't think they're in the league of the karts in KRP.

Online inbetween practice qualifying and racing the kart setup reverts to the default settings and it keeps catching me out, whatever about the rest of the default setup the brake pressure makes the kart undrivable and I have to abandon any races. I know I could just change the default settings but I don't like to change that so I can always go back to the default and start again.

How long would go kart tyres last? When should I think about changing them? Should you use one set for qualifying, one for practice and another set for the race? Or should you use one set for all 3?

if if offline edit your profile.ini using notepad.exe

add
[testing]
groove_multiplier=20
wet_multiplier=20

Do I add the lines

"[testing]
groove_multiplier=20
wet_multiplier=20"

None of those lines are currently in my profile.ini file.

The tracks take 20 laps to rubber in, I think. Playing online with other people will make this happen quicker as there would be more karts to put down rubber faster. Playing off line you have to rubber in the track on your own which takes more time.

For KS1 I use 60-70%. 60 if it is a shorter track and I use the break to kick the rear into the corner. Up to 70 on wider tracks.
Can the rear brake work almost like a handbrake to slide back end of the kart?

So what are the recommendations for Beta 6? To be honest default is working well for me, especially on eassy. If anything I experience a good bit of understeer no sign of the kart spinning out on me at all. All I've done is increased the front tyres pressure to 65, changed the rear axle to soft 50, changed the castor by one degree (for no other reason other than messing) The toe in settings are a bit different though.

Just got to try it tonight for the first time. The default setup is definitely much more drivable, the kart doesn't flip around and understeers more so, can feel it drifting sideways more and the brakes feel much better. They don't lock up nearly as easily and I can feel the kart squirm under braking rather than just lock up. I wouldn't know enough about it to give much better feedback.

Most important though is soft tyres, more than 50 laps each put in on lonato and essay without the game crashing. Everything appears very stable on my PC.

My main reason for staying away from softs so far has been to avoid the marbling on the track crashing the game.

I think it would be helpful to see what the tops times at any particular track are from the pits menu so you know how your doing at any track. It might not be as useful to experienced guys who know what they're doing but for newbies it would be helpful to gauge your progress.
