Off-Topic / New Sim Racing equipment Store
October 07, 2011, 01:51:08 PM
Hey guys(and gals) I thought I would post this here to show something I've been working on for quite a while now and would like to finally show it to some people...lol

I have developed a new website to make it easier for sim racers to buy, sell and trade all things sim racing. SimRaceStore has over 75+ sim racing specific categories to find exactly what you need. It also features a Custom Paint Schemes area, complete with digital downloads from our community of members and stores.

- Joining is free and takes less than 5 minutes.
- There are no auction listing fees.
- Listing a want ad is also free.

SimRaceStore Home is also planning some Official Race Events with the entire emphasis on giving back to the racers with quality prizes. The first Fun Race is next Thursday Oct 13th at 6PM Eastern Standard time on iRacing hosted servers.

- It's Free and Easy to get started.

A little more info.......

SimRaceStore.com was created to help eliminate the need to develop and maintain a "seperate" website for smaller companies, giving those company owners more time to focus on what matters......the products. All Store owners can develop their own custom web page inside SimRaceStore.com with a simple WYSIWYG editor. All SimRaceStore members and store owners will benefit from marketing campaigns we will be running in "other" media sources to help expose their storefronts to bigger audiences in new industries. SimRaceStore.com will also be running Contests and Events with prizes to give away throughout the remaining year (must be a registered member to qualify).

Another reason we created SimRaceStore.com was to give todays talented Sim Racing "painters" a place to display and sell their own paint schemes for all racing titles. "Painters" can do this through their own buy it now listings or bid-style auctions........ all in their own fully customizable storefronts and profile page. Painters then display their work for the world to see and browse through......then....If on-looking shoppers like what they see in the uploaded example pics, they can purchase that paint scheme for their own use. After the payment clears to the seller, file(s) are then securely delivered through encrypted links to the buyer. The links will then expire 24 hours after downloading. All transactions are handled through through PayPal servers and all major forms of payment are accepted. It's simple and easy. So dig into that folder of skins you have and possibly turn them into cash!

Another useful feature of SimRaceStore.com is the ability for members to be able to list a wanted ad for just about anything to all the Artists, Stores and Members. Whether it be for a custom painted Gulf Racing livery for your next racing season or a cnc cut sheet of carbon fiber to mount that Pro Sli-board onto. Whatever your looking for, the SimRaceStore.com wanted ads are definitely were your going to find that new or used goodie you need to keep getting those Wins.

Here is a 4 day (48 hour) %-100 OFF Voucher Code too, so you can upgrade all of your opening listings and get maximum exposure for the Grand Opening launch if your interested in selling anything.

Documentation / Re: multi-monitor
June 12, 2011, 12:40:38 AM

Piboso PLEASE make the graphics changes timeout longer than 15 seconds!

i cannot change any graphics settings because it changes them back before i ever see anything on the screen.....just 30 seconds of blackness...... ridiculous! The  loading times in this sim are just WAY to Long........becoming a problem for me.

been trying to test this out for hours.....but cannot even click on the left monitor now cause the damn aspect ratio is stuck...btw the eyefinity does the same thing.

so in game what do you set the resolution at?   because with eyefinity 6024x 1200 was there with the first release...So is this just compensating for the monitor angles?....i.e. i had bezel management before.)

specs:
3x 24" (1920x1200)
ati 5850 gpu
3.0 quad core q8300 (3.0 ghz)

@Aireisor.....you can build your own now from the pictures...:) just start cutting and welding.

@ evo1087.......i had most of the steel laying around the shop.  so that was cheap....its just thin wall conduit tubing as it does have to flex or handle well at all. haha

other than that it is just a logitech g25. and a single 24" monitor with computer.

the kart seat was an old broken one i had laying around.

Plus: both of the chassis have swivel seats under the drivers seat so they are ready for scn5 actuators to move the seats.  just never got around to doing it yet.

Kevin

Someday i have a plan to make these and sell them (the car seats not the kart chassis) but thats another story:)

January 03, 2011, 04:25:53 PM
i did a couple indoor tracks for BRKart (rfactor)  it wasnt too hard but like you said i just used the same textures and traction levels as the rest of the tracks.......

Im from Michigan and we also have a lot of indoor tracks.......what are some videos or pic examples of what your talking about?

Check this one out here....i never released it.

being from the states where this is very popular still (not really with me:) it would be a great idea......there is a lot of drivers who would come just for the track i think.....

I can make tracks..... but i just dont have time for a "whole road course" anymore.

Show me some good photos and videos with lap times and ill mess around with it....i think it would be fun and maybe the online play would not be choppy due to the small map size.

lets try it.

you could be onto something here......

General Discussion / Re: Three monitors?
January 03, 2011, 04:05:41 PM
Ditch the 5 year old softTH software and get and ATI eyefinity setup...it can be obtained very cheaply on newegg.com

....nowadays for the price of good steering wheel you can get 3x decent monitors off of ebay.

I just wished iracing wasnt the only developers that realized if you build it.....people will go out and get three monitors.....haha....i mean they have one of the only multi-view rendering setups in the world and their No way near the size of some of the "big" gaming companies.

Would someone please post a good tutorial on how to set up a dedicated server for this sim?....im more of a painter/moddler/skinner kind of guy....... but would be willing to get the necessary hardware to get a dedicated server going.

Would it be something that could be ran off of a normal "dedicated" computer or something....i have a couple decent computers sitting around doing nothing in my print shop.....

when i see decent ping rates the online is just barely "race-able"....it would be nice to have a pack of 15 karts to dice it up with....the online "experience" is the backbone of a sucessfull sim... i think this would help greatly.

why us tracks? there is some very popular uk tracks and id say wuite a few uk/eu people play this

because im in the us and i like to go to the track and measure it.  This way im not building some fictional "idea" of what i think the track looks like from photos of google maps.....i like to go to the track and actually drive on it first.......

Thats why i would like to do some "stateside" tracks.

I lived in Strausbourg,France for four years.... i know how many wonderful tracks there is in Europe...i mean no disrespect to them.
