If you got to the link in the OP all the information is there. Right below the race times.

Racedepartment.com is organizing a weekly race starting tomorrow June 22, 2012.

Rhe Racing Club race (meaning is not a league but just a weekly fun race) will be every friday evening US/Canada time zones.

The first race is at Lonato with open choice of kart.

the link is here:

If you can, please sign up. You have to get a RD license to race, but it's really easy to get. I hope to see you there.

Sure. I can do better and take a video with Fraps of the calibration process, upload it to youtube and send you the link. It may give more insight to what is going on. In the past I never had a problem with calibration using the same setup.

Of course, sometimes it works fine so this depends on me being able to reproduce it.

One last update: I had setup the controller perfectly and then I quit the game for the day. When I opened it today it had forgotten all my axis inputs and I had to enter them again. There is something wrong with the controller settings. At the very least it forgets the mapping, but also when I try to map it for the first time I ahve to quit, come back and only then activating one axis does not trigger another and makes the whole process frustrating.

I'll make sure to document this further and then I will post in the proper forum.

Racing / US & Canada Drivers
March 30, 2012, 10:00:38 PM
EDIT: I just found another thread asking pretty much the same thing.  This is the link: http://forum.kartracing-pro.com/index.php?topic=987.0 we should probably keep it there.

But any US & Canada drivers that would like to race should probably sign up with race department http://www.racedepartment.com. The RD forum for Kart Racing pro is here http://www.racedepartment.com/forum/forums/kart-racing-pro.127/ and getting a license with RD is pretty easy. If a good group of us becomes members we can certainly organize races and practices on their server.

I wanted to see how many US & Canada drivers would be available to race online. I am a member of race Department and I may be able to help organize "fun races" using the RD servers if needed. We could also ask the Drivingitalia folks if they didn't mind us using their servers for practice and races since we'd use them mostly when they are sleeping.

In any event, server availability with this Sim is secondary to drivers availability so I was wondering if US & Canadian drivers could reply so we can get a head count to see if future races in our time zones would be feasible.

I wanted to update this by saying that once I restarted the program, I came back and things were working much better. Pressing the brake no longer activated the gas and it seemed to remember the steering settings. In fact, I had quite a good time racing the kart and I think it never felt this good before. It really drives like a real kart.

BTW, the reason I posted here was because I wasn;t sure if it was a bug or something I was doing. Turns out it was neither, I should have just restarted and I would have had my answer.

I am getting something similar. For me it works, but when I go back in to fix some other input that's not working (like brake, gas) I go back to the track and now the steering is no longer mapped.

I have separate pedals.

I have a G25 wheel and inverted G27 pedals with a load cell.

For some reason with this version of KRP I am having the worse time setting up my controller. The steering axis will get unassigned for no reason and I have to go back and reset them every time. But the biggest problem is that when I press the brake the first part of the travel of the pedal activates the gas as well. This is visible on the colored bars and in the calibration window.

When I mapped the brake to my clutch pedal the issue went away, but when I press the brake it still activates the gas for about the first 20% of its travel.

Since I use the Bodnar cable I went to the Bodnar software to see if the activation of the gas was happening there or not. It wasn't, at least not to that degree. When I press the brake I can see the accellerator calibration bar increase but only for a couple of millimiters, probably due to some faulty ground or something similar. But in KRP those 2 mm become 50% of the gas travel and it seems to stay that way for longer as well.

If anyone has experience anything like this and knows of a fix I'd be grateful.

PS: I have just about every simulator out there, none does this. All I have to do is set the deadzone to "3" and it takes care of the spyke I press the brake

I am in too. However, how do we communicate in order to meet at the server at the proper time?

Maybe the forum mods should think about giving each region their own forums and/or have each "league" a forum where we can check up on races, practice runs, etc.

Then, there is Facebook, twitter and even text messaging. Since most will be in the US maybe a group text message would be a good idea. I don;t know about you, but I tend notto check my email when I am racing. But I see if I get a text message on my phone (However, you can set up Gmail to send you a text if you know how to create filters).

Anyway, I'd love to race because turning laps by myself is rather boring after a while and I don;t drive this sim enough.
