Bought this game yesterday and it is fantastic fun. Adding to this thread as it may assist with any investigation you plan to do.

We ran it for most of the day on an older machine with great framerates, etc; then mid way through the day in the middle of a session the display filled with garbage, keyboard responded by could not drop out of the game so was forced to power off the machine. Machine came back up after power off.

It then ran for a few more hours until it finally black screened mid session leaving me with 'no signal' on the display. Powered off the machine again as I was left with little option. Now my card no longer outputs a signal to the display at all although the computer posts and boots successfully based on bios beeps and the vnc session i can join; the vnc session also with garbled output reinforcing my diagnoses of the display adapter being screwed.

As I said the hardware i was running was older (and thankfully free):
- Nvidia 6800GT (AGP)
- AMD X2 4600+
- 3GB DDR2
- Windows XP

I have been running Quake 4, Quakeworld, Trine, Race07 and other accel software without any evidence of issues for months on this same machine; the system itself has been nice and stable.

There is no overclocking used on any hardware in that machine; unfortunately since I cannot get a display output from the machine anymore I cannot add any additional information. I assume since the hardware is older if probably does not include the recovery modes/safety nets which may be present in the later hardware therefore i'm left with no output from a card which apart from a physical lack of display reports correctly to the system.

Still its a great game; Currently I am quite wary of running beta4 on any other hardware atm.
