same thing happening to me..
decided to buy the game yesterday (after playing the demo for a long time with no problems) and it doesn't work exactly like that.
i also have mxbikes that works perfectly..
all my drivers and windows are up to date, i manually installed openal and i also have windows defender for win10 64bit (and looks like i have disabled the steam folder from the antivirus check)
i tried with a steam fresh install but nothing.
the process appear in the task manager for a second then disappear.
p.s. i just downloaded the gpbikes demo and it works no problem, while the krp demo doesn't work as the full game on steam..

yes, yes, remplace the INI was the tenth try when I didn't know what else to try...
so far the only progress i did was to download an earlier version (release 11) from one of the mirrors here on the forum and got it working, but of course having purchased it from steam the downloaded version asks for a key that i don't have, so i can only try it as a demo..but at least it works..so there's something wrong in the rel11f exe file, since both the steam and downloaded versions doesn't work.

i had the same problem. For me this solution worked:
1. uninstall openal
2. reboot pc
3. install openal
4. reboot pc
5. start kart racing pro
It's imporant to uninstall openal befor you install it again.

Try to uninstall openal, uninstall krp, reboot, install openal, reboot, install krp.... same problem.
All others softwares work fine on my PC, all other steam game work fine, graphic drivers updated...
I've got a lot of programs so I don't want to format my PC just because a update software doesn't work...I play only with release11 's not a solution because can't play online with friends :(

No idea if the workaround still works, but might be worth a try. Install a Steam version of KRP, go to ..\SteamApps\common\Kart Racing Pro\ folder and rename or delete core.ini file, then try to launch the game.
Also, make sure that your antivirus doesn't block kart.exe, the game's main executable file. For instance, Microsoft Defender Antivirus is known to give a false positive when a standalone krp-rel11f installer is running.

I've got always the same problem.
I install openal, nothing
I deleted core.ini, restart PC, but nothing...
I put launcher.exe in steam files, exec launcher, launch krp from it... but nothing
I download and clean install release11 in programfiles, krp start and I can play
I download and clean install release11e or f in programfiles, krp doesn't start
I download from steam (rel11f so) with licence, krp doesn't start !!
All krp.exe (steam folder or program folder) have good rights in firewall...
I'm so sad ! all the afternoon to try to find a solution...

Besides, can you see any errors/warnings related to kart.exe in the Event Viewer? You can use
Find in Actions window, search for
kart.exe.

OK, in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive you should see a list of folders with reports. Look for ones with kart.exe in their name (e.g. AppCrash_kart.exe_[long number]). Any report from yesterday will be fine. In the folder you should see a file Report.wer. Can you please attach that file so I can check it?
ProgramData is a hidden system folder. If you don't see it, go to File Explorer, click on File, choose Change folder and search options, in the View tab select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and press OK.

I remove "Kart Racing Pro" folder
I remove "Pisobo" Folder
I uninstall OpenAL
Run CCleaner
Reboot.
For Steam version, never uninstall because it is the first time I use steam with KRP
I've try to move the KRP steam folders on another HD with steam options but....no way :(

Right... I see. Would you like to perform the following steps?
- Launch Steam, uninstall Kart Racing Pro and exit Steam;
- Uninstall OpenAL in Add or Remove Programs app. Reboot your PC;
- Open File Explorer;
- Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common and delete the folder Kart Racing Pro;
- Go to C:\Program Files and delete Kart Racing Pro folder (in case you still have a standalone version on your PC);
- Go to C:\Program Files (x86) and delete the folder named OpenAL;
- Go to your Documents, locate the folder named PiBoSo and delete it;
- Go to Start menu and type regedit. Open Registry Editor;
- In the Registry Editor, click File -> Export and save a backup copy of the registry (just to be at the safe side);
- Then click Edit -> Find and type kart.exe in the 'Find' window, press Find Next button. When the editor finds the key or entry with kart.exe in it, it will stop the search and highlight the result. Delete the highlighted entry by pressing Delete key. Then press F3 to search for the next result. Repeat these steps until the editor tells you the search is finished. Take your time with this process, don't rush it, delete only the highlighted entries! If you delete anything else by mistake, go to File -> Import, restore the backup copy of the registry, reboot your PC and repeat the search for kart.exe;
- Close Registry Editor and restart you PC;
- Go to Registry Editor again and run a search for kart.exe to make sure that no entries are found;
- Install a standalone version of 11f (krp-rel11f.exe), just forget about Steam for a while. Do not download and install OpenAL manually, allow the game's installation wizard to install all it needs and try to launch KRP. Please attach the latest Report.wer in case the game fails to start;

Sadly, the issue's not resolved and I'm running out of ideas...
Installing the game on a brand new HDD will not change a thing as you're still running the same installation of the operating system. BTW, can you please attach the file Report.wer? It should contain a list of loaded modules, and this is exactly what I'm looking for.

Since this last post, I've "rage" uninstall KRP from Steam and standalone version :-\ so I don't save the file, sorry.

Hi, yes, but, unfortunately, the info you've provided doesn't look like a report.wer, the structure is totally different (as a point of reference, see your post from December 30
th - that was the correct one). BTW, these .WER reports are automatically generated and stored by Windows, they do not disappear if you uninstall the programme.
