Title: Kart Racing Pro Championship
Post by: Alessandro Ceronetti on March 19, 2018, 06:44:04 PM
Hello,

Me and Ethan Ling are in partnership for this championship to make it as good as possible. This post is an improved version of Ethan's post. A more rounded version of it.

The Championship is a 6 Round Championship that has tracks from all over Europe to test your skills and decide who is the best on Kart Racing Pro. The plan would be that 5 days before the race everyone who is intending to participate to that particular round, will have to send me or Ethan an entry form, just so that we are aware that you are racing and we can make some slight modifications to race layout if needed. The championship will be ran on a KF3 Engine, and on any chassis you like. These are the planned dates of the races:

ROUND 1: Llandow                    (30th March 2018)

ROUND 2: Whilton Mill               (5th April 2018)

ROUND 3: Shennington            (19th April 2018)

ROUND 4: Rye House                (3rd May 2018)

ROUND 5: Genk                         (26th April 2018)

ROUND 6: PF International        (10th May 2018)                                      Links to the track to come soon!

The average race day will run at the following times:*

(GMT) 16:00----Free Practice (25 Minutes)

(GMT) 16:30----Qualifying (12 Minutes)

(GMT) 16:47----Pre-Final (10 Minutes)

(GMT) 17:00----Grand Final (12 Minutes)

*races and session numbers may vary, based on how many people are entered. People will be notified the day before the race day :)

Points system

The points system will constantly be updated, depending on the number of people entered. So far the points are looking like this:

1st Place:  18 Points
2nd Place: 16 Points
3rd Place:  14 Points
4th Place:  12 Points
5th Place:  10 Points
6th Place:  8 Points
7th Place:  6 Points
8th Place:  4 Points
9th Place:  3 Points
10th Place: 2 Points

Points will be awarded in the Pre Final as well. Points to be included in the heats, (if announced so).

If you guys aren't gonna release stuff publically for what's ever reason you should instead make your own website for organization like SKWC did way better than using the forum

That's because we don't want it to be a big championship like the SKWC. Anyway, we are planning to set up a Facebook group to keep everyone updated

1. Wanting a smaller series does not mean you can't be organized
2. We kept everything private to the point of implementing security levels on our forum to keep none entries from getting stuff and used Facebook and still would get 50 total entires for the season
3. You make a small series by controlling entries which is easier when you have your own forum
But what do I know  I only ran all 7 seasons of SKWC worked 1 on 1 with the admins to develop content for the series and ran it as one of the admins for the last 3 seasons

Why do you get so worried in how we do our own championship, when you're not even competing in it? Just let us do what we have to do and since what we are doing has already worked in the past we are not changing to the way you want it or other people want it. People have read how it works, and have accepted to enter to the championship, so you're the only one making a problem out of it.

Obviously I want to see it succeed but youre obviously extremely resistant to doing things that actually require effort especially since this Facebook group you claim to be using still doesn't exist or you haven't invited people. I honestly cannot for the life of me figure out what you mean by "has worked in the past" seeing as SKWC was the last successful series and the last series to use this was the original European championship from even before I was on the forum. Also you getting entries doesn't mean the series can't be run better. If you want longevity not just a quick little bit of fun then you could at the bare minimum have a rule book but you guys do what you want can't wait for Ethan Lings dumpster fire international championship

There is actually a facebook group but its private, you need to sign up to get invited. And also i think Alessandro and Ethan should take your advise, but i think they are to lazy to be bothered to do all of that.

For the ones who are competing in the championship, please send me an entry form via pm, telling me you're taking part in the first round, and give me your Facebook account so I can add you to the group for daily updates. Deadline for sending me the entries is the 29th March, which is Wednesday so don't miss out

I love your arguments you basically just admitted that you rushed into doing this and you aren't prepared or willing to commit to doing the work to get this running properly. It is obvious to me that you are not working on any forum or website in private because if you were you'd realize using all the default templates and such is the easiest least time consuming thing about the whole process a running a league. Never mind that there realistically any reason you couldn't just push the season back. Like I said this dumpster fire world championships is gonna be great.

Not to mention every one has obligations that take up their time outside of krp lmao there's nothing special about having a tight schedule

It's not entirely clear for me how to join the race. I can't see a server in the list. Will it be online with beginning of practice?

sorry, I'm new to KRP.

As I mentioned before, people are only getting the track for the first round when they sent me an entry form saying that they are competing in the first round or not. Also you will need to give me your Facebook so I can keep everyone updated on everything

TO ANYONE WHO HASN'T JOINED THE FACEBOOK GROUP, THE FACEBOOK GROUP CONTAINS A FILE THAT YOU WILL NEED FOR RACE DAY. WITHOUT THAT, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RACE :)

as a tip: you are making it way too difficult to participate on your event...
for example:
- no track links unless you send someone a message
- must be on facebook group
- there's a file on facebook group you will need in order to participate
- must use the discord as well

you should use the tracks that come with the sim, and everyone should be good to go.
no track download needed, no extra files needed, no group needed, no discord needed...

Outside of the facebook group and not linking tracks I disagree with you entirely. Mod tracks and a VOIP service are needed VOIP is in fact absolutely necessary for proper and clear communication during the race as KRP has no VOIP in game and text is not quick or consistent enough. Mod tracks and even for the sake a variety mod engines are really good as there are only a few KRP tracks so you run one season and youre literally running an identical series for the next season. SKWC never actually even ran on a KRP standard track cause theyre so used and well known its boring from round 1.  I have my other issues with this league but I wont get into them. And as a side note when installing mods for this game is as simple as dragging and dropping a couple folders mods shouldnt be a barrier to a league unless youre genuinely inept or just insanely lazy just my 2 cents
