Title: Realistic Braking
Post by: Alexander Kirkwood on July 13, 2015, 02:22:50 PM
For a future update I would like to see more realistic braking (it is already realistic)
At most British tracks and some European tracks it is faster to brake sideways(hard to explain) The easiest way to show what I meen is watching this video and these photos:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPO1K22uHhc
http://prntscr.com/7s4shj
http://prntscr.com/7s4szm
http://prntscr.com/7s4t5v
http://prntscr.com/7s4tbi
http://prntscr.com/7s4tgv
http://prntscr.com/7s4tmn
http://prntscr.com/7s4tsx

It is currently extremely hard to pull of without spinning but it is moderatly easy at the first hairping at pf in krp, I would like to see this easier to do.

I see what you mean and youre right. But what youre doing in the video is defenitely not fast.

Yeah tristan I was just exaggerating it.
I am also aware ian that you can do it on krp and I do do it on krp I am just trying to say with a stock setup you cannot get a large angle.

I have tried sliding into corners, braking in a straight line, many things in KRP in my time playing this game, braking in a straight line is a lot faster than braking whilst trying to slide the rear out, on the rare occasion, sliding can be faster, that is only if you are good enough to hold it properly without completely messing it up, but I think you should stick to braking in a straight line.

Alexander eurosliding is much slower in karting these days especially in rotax. Also your karts set up like shit :)

I wonder why, ever think about the effects of your not-so-euro sliding on tyre wear?  ::)

to be fair though, it should be like easier to hold the rear end out under brakes, I still do it in KRP, but it takes a bit more effort than it should to do so.

The only time you can get away with that is when there's little to no grip on track. Larkhall is low grip which is why you only ever see people doing that at any time other than an S1 weekend.. Anyway it is definitely slower both in krp and real life.

I just read this by accident and have to say, exactly my thoughts the last few days...
what keeps me from driving krp at the moment is the braking, especially if I compare to real life experience it doesn't feel as easy to have the rear end step out under braking and keep it like that throughtout the breaking phase. In real life it is easy and almost comes natural to overdrive the kart on the brake (have it go sideways under braking). Take a look at these video sections, two braking maneuvres that explain it a 100% + it's Lonato and a great great driver worth a look anyway :)

Please have a look into this, in my opinion a very important point, if one wants to really be able to enjoy the driving, breaking, sliding, being on the edge... a sensation which at the moment really only assetto corsa can deliver

Regards

This is not True, we tried it out several times on everal trcks in the Euro Challenge and National Series aswell.

But i will not say why and how it works perfectly (The International Rotax Driver's here will know what i mean)
