Title: Saving a replay
Post by: aireisor on May 09, 2011, 08:28:29 PM
When saving a replay, I sometimes don't get full length of a video and it doesn't start from the beginning. I'm not the only one with this.
And unfortunately I have lost some good footage for this reason  :(

To increase replay buffer size open kart.ini in Kart Racing Pro installation directory and add the following lines:

[core]
replay = 10000000

The default size is 10MB, but you can increase it, as long as you have enough memory.

Thank you!

Can you please now tell what would be a good maximum number for me? I have 6gb of RAM and win 7. And I should have some spare space left for good computer performance :)

To record a 30 laps race with 20 drivers KRP needs around 100MB.
A value of 300000000 ( 300MB ) should be enough for a full event, and still leave 5+ GB of RAM for the OS.

I was greedy and tried 900000000 (900MB) value. That caused the game to crash when trying testing/online sessions. I wanted maximum value  8)

900MB should work correctly ( and they do, at least with Beta3 ). Are you sure you haven't added an extra 0 at the end? When exactly does it crash, watching a replay?

I only replaced 3 with 9, so no extra 0 was added. It crashed when I tried to do a testing session and join or host an online session.

Today I saved a replay to review later. And when I did, I noticed that it is not there in the replays. Then I opened the replay folder. There was a file with the right name, saved at the right time, but 0kb size.
