Unfortunately Release1 is taking longer than expected, so a new beta has been published.

It doesn't fix the incompatibility with Windows 8.1 either. A patch will be released as soon as possible.

Note:
It is possible to move the camera in the "kart choose" page using the same controls of the viewer.

In the race setup page, select a category from the pull-down, and add it with the "plus" button.
To remove a category, select it from the list and press "minus".

When gearbox preload is activated, it is possible to keep the shift lever pressed and the gearbox will shift as soon as the throttle is lifted.

Hi Piboso, would you please consider adding via ini at least to have a faster look back when full heading is enabled or at least give more angle to the sides views? i just can play alone, hotlapping and stuff, i can't have another driver close to me cause i can't see it, only if he passed me, and if i'm with full heading enabled, it's so slow that when i use it i miss the braking spot so it's no fun. and that's only if there's one driver, i can't imagine with 4 or 6. i bet i couldn't handle. it's such a great sim but the side views and back suck so bad i'm not enjoying it at full.

here's my suggestion thread.

I don't know if this is a problem with this beta but when I export after putting in puddles the track goes very dark didn't have a problem before.

Post by: Birel-Rotax 42 on April 08, 2014, 03:04:12 PM
It sounds like you don't use high field of view. There are several threads that show how to change field of view.
Title: Re: Kart Racing Pro beta11
Post by: maxrod on April 08, 2014, 03:55:24 PM
This has nothing to do with field of view this is about the texture of the track using third texture in the Glossiness or Specular Level for the puddles.

The RGB part of the puddles' texture should be set to full white: 255,255,255

Post by: maxrod on April 08, 2014, 06:14:46 PM
The RGB is 255,255,255 the picture is a dry track which would normally look like this one as picture, And before the new beta was ok and is ok till I exported into new beta.

So I´m the friend. I´m using Fanatec CSR Wheel with CSR Elite Pedals (not plugged into the wheel. It´s plugged directly into USB.). Graphics card is a nvidia GTX 770 4Gb edition. I tried it for about an hour on a few different tracks and it worked just fine. I had the problem with beta 10b, so something must have changed ;)

Just normal map and specular in the  picture with dark track texture, With puddles in specular level with secondary UV map and skid in opacity with a secondary UV map have tried puddle in glossiness but still the same, Was ok with last beta, It was when I exported to beta 11, it is ok in the mapviewer.

I have found a small workaround, krp will only crash if you try and use a function (e.g. low speed or text chat or exiting to garage) while stationary. As long as you are moving krp doesnt crash.

Go into your "profiles" folder under "documents",then "PiBoSo" and "Kart Racing Pro". Go into the profile.ini file and if your category has many karts listed, you will need to replace it with a single category. Happened to me as well, one of the bugs we all have noticed pretty early on in Beta 11.

Yes, race_category will randomly fill up sometimes, and will cause a crash every time. It was fixed for myself and friends by removing everything from that field and entering in one of the engines.

Just for reference for everyone else, the directory is (Disk Drive):\Users\(Your Name)\Documents\PiBoSo\Kart Racing Pro\profiles\(Profile Name) and go into "profile.ini". Find "race_category" field and change it to a single kart.

Do laps on it to build up rubber...
Otherwise you can go to the profile.ini (this is documented, so you should probably look at the documented feature) go to the grip multiplier "groove_multiplier" and set it to whatever factor you want grip to be added at.

I updated the dedicated server and I seem to be getting regular crashes. I start a new server and a day or so later, the server has crashed. I can upload the crash report if you like when it happens again but just wanted to know if it was a known issue.

Server specs are :

Xeon 3.0Ghz Dual Core
4GB DDR-RAM
Windows Vista Home Premium

Thanks

Jamie

PS.
I have just updated to Windows 8.1 as well so I will see tomorrow if the sim is still working.

No necesitan instalación, simplemente ejecútalos y listo. Los plugins son para el 3ds MAX y van en su carpeta plugins.

i mean, i love the sim, but i'm getting tired of it, some times i go back to it and do some laps, maybe some lan racing but other than that...
Title: Re: Kart Racing Pro beta11 - Thrustmaster FF F430 wheel wont work...
Post by: Matthijs050 on June 28, 2014, 11:53:14 PM
Since the Beta 11, my Thrustmaster Force Feedback F430 wheel wont work properly.
Game allready again newly installed. Drivers again installed. Still not good.

When is calibrate the wheel, everything looks okay. on the top i can select the right profile of my wheel. Then i click button OK.
After that, in the input 1 menu, i can't enable Force Feedback, en when i want to change the steerings input, to my wheel in stead of my keyboard buttons, when i click with my mouse, he says : J2 POV 1 N unassigned. Nothing happens. I can't get the steering input linked to my wheel.
When i click on the brake or accelerate, he assingnes my mouse button instead of my pedals. J2 POV 1 N.....?!?!?!

before this update i dont have any problems regarding my thrustmaster wheel.
And in other game like F1 2013 or Race07, my wheel still works fine.

So Piboso, is there any solution for my problem ?

If there is another controller attached, then it should be calibrated, too.
In the calibration page it is possible to change controller with the arrows in the top left corner.

In the calibration page i can select diferent profiles. i saw that allready. My Thrustmaster wheel en som Vjoy virtual joystick. But the last one i cant calibrate.
I seems, KRP still assignes my mousebutton to whichever button i click. Normally he says, activate your brake, you press down your brakepedal, and voila, brake pedal assigned. But he dont let me do that, directly he assigned my mouse to it. J2 POV 1 N.  It has something to do with that extra strange virtual controller. that for some reason KRP is thinking it is my mouse...

UPDATE:
it seems there was some VJoy Virtual Joystick software installed. Can't remember if i ever did that myself. But anyway, i found it in the software list of windows, and uninstalled it. Restarted KRP, again calibrate my wheel, and voila it seems all fine by now. Not yet really driven the new Beta, just wanna first inform you PiBoSo. Now back to my kart, he is waiting for me.... ;D ;D ;D

With a fanatec GT2 wheel and pedals  (driver 177 64 bit), pressing on the throttle or brake - the 'pressure' slowly climbs up to full.  Also turning the wheel slowly turns that direction.   I've done the calibration and if I go back to beta 10, this doesn't happen.  Is there a new setting i'm overlooking for Fanatec?

It sounds like you have 'Smooth' turned on?

Hi everybody, my very first post here. :)
I've just downloaded the beta11 demo and I did some laps. I noticed that the steering wheel is very sensitive, to the point that if you do a full turn to the left or to the right the kart will very likely spin (doing a 180 degrees rotation).
I already calibrated my steering wheel as explained in the proper topic around here and when I turn left or right the yellow bar in the option menu has a linear response. I tried with a Thrustmaster T300 and a Fanatec GT, both set to 900 degrees: is this a normal behavior?

Also, on the web I found that in the past there were some lines in the profile.ini file that let you decrease the visual shaking, but now I don't find them anymore: did they change name or have they been removed in the latest builds?

Thank you in advance for your help. :)

They should still work.
Values lower than 1 should decrease the G forces effect on the driving view.

Hi PiBoSo, yes, they still work. I didn't try before because I thought they were removed in a recent build, but they still seem to do the job, thanks. :)
