Title: Multiplayer problems
Post by: PiBoSo on November 06, 2012, 07:18:44 PM
Please use this thread to list all the multiplayer problems of Beta7.

The known issues are:
- dedicated server crashes
- sometimes the client hangs on "connection"

Please only post short, simple reports, preferably with the instructions to replicate the bug.

Hi everyone :) I'm new to the forum. I just bought Kart Racing Pro and I changed the template of my kart. The problem arises when I'm in a server. In practice, a friend of mine tells me that, instead of seeing the template of the Energy of my kart, he sees my kart gray. It is a bug or something else?

The license key is registered with nickname "Dan Buck".
Please make sure it's correctly set in KRP -> Profiles -> Nickname.

if the server has a  - - -  in the ping that means you can't connect,  also did this only happen once when you tryed to connect to the server?  because what normally works i shutdown the game and re-open it again, and another thing is to shutdown any other programs too.

hahaha cool! jokes aside, try reinstalling it, making a completely clean install and check on your graphic card drives to see if they are updated! ;)

let us know the results! :D

PC is ok (when not looking at the crappy specs) ;) ;D he is lame but it all works and is up to date :)

But what means "Clean Install"? ::) When i Install Beta8, Beta7 were also installed (I dont delete it)

And why i can open a server, and people can join, but i cant join others? :o

@LIAM-36-AUS: I try it 3 or 4 times...and in every try I was waiting for more than 10 minutes and then quit because it was annoying me ;)

oops, i totally forgot about that Dan!  Anyway a clean install is where you keep backup folders of paints, helmets and dashes etc and delete the Kart Racing PRO beta7 folders(except for the backup ones with all the paints) then you install beta8 and and all you have to do is put them paints that you downloaded in beta7 in the beta8 folders.   EDIT: Make sure you keep a back up of your license too!

just to add, all the paints, dashes and tracks from the Beta7 one are working pretty well on this new Beta8b for me, even online...

I'm using beta 11 I don't know if there have been any hotfixes for this issue.  When I go to host I don't get passed the server setup screen.  Thanks In advance for the assistance.

Help?

Go to documents, piboso, kart racing pro, profiles, your profile, and then into the profile.ini. Scroll down to the point where it says "classes" under the online settings. Delete all except for one, e.g. KF3, and save. Now hosting should work. Way is by Corrie Hiatt (Birel-Rotax42)

Netcode needs improvement or at least the number of karts able to be seen raised from 12

Ok, I give up. Going to ask for refund at Steam.

It's a shame. Try to connect to a race 10 times, it will crash 9 times. Time out Connection.
I tried all connection speed. Low, middle and fast (I have a 400mBit Connection). No way. It's somewhat unstable and very beta.

Driving around in Testing mode is boring after all.

Fix it, I will return next year.

Bye.

The number of Karts in a server is set by the server admin, It is not a hard limit.

You are aware that you are commenting on a post made a very long time ago that was in reference to how you can only see 12 karts at a time no matter what because of Piboso's restrictions not the amount of people on the server.

You must be having a very isolated experience as no one I know nor myself have had their game crash joining servers since the 2b update that came out days ago. Also the speed settings only refer to karts visible and does not affect ability to join servers

joining to a lobby is now sorted. but it is nearly impossible to start an actually race. practice qually warm up are all fine. soon as you enter race pre-start somebody will always get removed for jumping the start even though they never move. then most when the remaining karts approach the 'corridor' everybody gets removed for either speeding or going too slow even when that is not the case. also karts infront flash in and out of vision during a race.

Isolated or not - for me it is nearly impossible to join a server. Sometime the game doesn't crash, but I always get a time out promptly. I run a Highend PC with fast 64gb mem and Titan X Pascal Graph, and drive with Oculus Rift. Maybe the Rift is the reason, I don't know.....

Maybe it's less isolated but the other day myself and 8 other friends raced together on 3 seperate tracks/ servers one even had a rift and no ones game ever crashed the only person who had a time out was once while an Aussie attempted to join. This was hosted by myself via the game not via a dedicated and we had a variety of quality of computers joining some people even left and rejoined part the way through

I have problem in multiplayer mode with my dedicated server and in "Host World" mode. All work ok, when 1 or 2 players. If players more than 2, we see wrong  numbers on karts and results fixed only for 2 players. It seems like other players not started!

Hi, Piboso!
In multiplayer mode, when switching to the grid for the start of the race, there is often an immediate disqualification with a message "Jump Start".
This happens regardless of whether the throttle pedal was pressed or not. Possibly affected by the state of the pedals at the end of the previous session.
