Title: European League Rules
Post by: laraarsa on March 08, 2012, 08:35:16 PM
Here will follow the rules for the championship!

Introduction

Welcome to the European League Rules thread! Thanks for entering the league.
Every driver is expected to have read and respect these rules. I have tried to provide a clear and relatively short set of rules that still cover most of the situations the staff, and drivers can get involved in. If a situation is not covered by the League Regulations the staff decides how it must be dealt with. The staff have the last word in all matters concerning
this league.

Forum

Here all the news regarding the league will be posted. You are excpected to follow and read the forum. If not you might miss vital information.
Please do not start a new thread regarding the league without permission from the staff members.

Point distribution

The points will be distributed like this:

P1 - 20
P2 - 17
P3 - 15
P4 - 13
P5 - 11
P6 - 10
P7 - 9
P8 - 8
P9 - 7
P10 – 6
P11 – 5
P12 – 4
P13 – 3
P14 – 2
P15 – 1

Drivers can only score points when they have finished the race!

The track and cutting
Racing happens on the track, not off the track. To create a clear picture of what the track is and where to drive a definition is provided here.Curbstones, grass areas, gravel traps, walls and tarmac or concrete outside the lines are not part of the track. Sometimes there are no lines. In that case the track is edged by curbstones, grass areas, gravel traps or walls; whatever is the nearest.

Drivers must always, whilst being in control of the kart, remain within the track edges and thus over the track surface with at least two wheels. When a driver takes a shorter, off-track, route through a corner, the move is considered as cutting. Cutting is forbidden at all times. When a driver is reported cutting he risks a time penalty.

Flag signals

The yellow flag indicates danger on a specified section of the track. Drivers are to drive cautiously on the scene of an accident. Overtaking is not allowed in this situation.

A blue flag indicates a faster driver is closing in. When a driver receives a blue flag signal he must let the faster driver pass as soon as possible. This means he must allow the faster driver to pass on the next safe opportunity. This is always within three corners of the first signal. As soon as the slower driver has the pace of the faster driver again, the flag signal should disappear. The faster driver must wait patiently for the slower driver to provide the opportunity to pass.

Overtaking and defending
Passing an opponent is harder than it looks and often results in tears.
1) Overtaking means going past someone, not through him. Drivers are not allowed to push karts out of the way. Though contact may not always be evitable, it may not act as the means to make the pass. You should always make as little contact as possible.
2) A driver can only attempt a pass when there is room for it and when the chance is reasonably high that it becomes successful, without heavy contact.
3) The defending driver is allowed to defend his position by changing lines once per straight. As soon as the overtaking kart has overlap on the straight the defending driver can only use the width of the track between the overtaking kart on the one side and the track boundary on the other side to move in, without applying physical force to widen it.
4) If you Spin someone, wait for him and let him get past again

Chatting
To drive a proper race a certain amount of concentration is required. To make sure this concentration is not broken it is forbidden to chat during qualification and race sessions. Only the staff may use the chat to communicate important information to the drivers. There are no exceptions to this rule. Offenders will be penalised.

time schedule

18:00 GMT Practice
19:00 GMT Qualifying
19:20 GMT Racing!

Incident reports

If the rules get violated you should make a report and send this to the race organizer by PM. No report means no investigation. Please try to make the report as soon as possible.

If anything is not clear to you please ask in this thread!

Lars

If there are an incident everyone can watch the replay after the race and then we can decide together? There are so many camera angles too choose from so this shouldnt be a problem.

How many laps in a race? What if you miss a race? Would it just be a no show for that race or kicked out of the league?

If you have a reason for not showing and report it to me/other staff it's ok. If you aren't there two times you will be kicked.
100% races

I've 2 questions.

Will there be limited tires sets?
Are you allowed to talk during practice and qualifying?

You need 1 for the pre final, 1 for the final and 2 for qualifying. So then nobody would drive the practice.

you can do practice on one set, one for quali, one for pre final, one for final
in real life once you start qualifying your not allowed to make a pit stop so realisticly you should only have 1 set of tyres for the qualifying sesion so i still dont see a problem  :P

What about aids? You use shift or clutch aids in races? And I would like to clarify that is not valid outside the exit route when the training will not include the result of a circle? Must remain within the two-wheel drive trails or just one is enough?
