Title: Tracks database
Post by: Josi on February 27, 2012, 09:39:22 AM
Hi there,
It's for a long time I look for something really updated about all the tracks existing for KRP.
It would be nice to have that in only one topic because there are some versions for the same track and it's not easy to know which one is the final one.
Also to have there the number of downloads or people satisfaction about the track.
Maybe in this way it will be easier in the future to choose the right tracks for racing online.
Need people to participate.
Some help to start with:

I will try to find all links to my tracks, you will not find ellough at the min as it was only uploaded to megaupload, will upload again in the future, The track was rushed and i am in the middle of tidying it up, It would be good to have a system to make it easier to find tracks, All tracks in the same place, A bit like rfactor, but i dont think this will happen.

Robby and Schwoni you are right the updates are much more than only some modified textures, but Whitham69 and nak (Team Moto5) know a lot about track modeling. Look here http://forums.piboso.com/showthread.php?tid=6
They have made most of the tracks for GP Bikes, even the Nordschleife, which is big fun even with a shifter kart.
Title: Re: Tracks database
Post by: EVO on February 27, 2012, 09:45:22 PM
Robby and Schwoni are working on tracks they made from scratch. So as we learn more we try to update the track for the community.  These updates also help find bugs and further improve these from scratch tracks
Title: Re: Tracks database
Post by: dibu on February 27, 2012, 10:17:03 PM
EVO, entirely correct what you write, I simply wanted to say even if they didn't build the tracks from scratch Team Moto5 knows about the problems of releasing tracks.
I very much respect all you guys building your tracks from scratch and I didn't want to attack anybody.

Replace the the.rdf and the stall.edf with the attached files.

Use a KS1 with highest gearing. With a topspeed of 163 kmh (175 kmh max) the karts are quite slow on the straight and the laptimes are decent (8'43 atm), but much fun in the corners.

The track is a bit bumpy for the karts but still very well drivable. It can happen that you over-rev and kill your engine if the rear axle looses contact to the street at the bigger bumps.

Somtimes kart.exe crashes shortly after entering the track, try to leave the pits slowly.

Title: Re: Tracks database

For me the FPS counter shows values between 150 and 270.
1280x720 (Beamer) and all graphic details set to maximum.
Specs: AMD/ATI HD6870 1GB, I7-2600K, 16 GB RAM, Win7-64

Do you have the problem everywhere or only at certain places?

Title: Re: Tracks database

Laraarsa, I don't know what the problem is. Your pc and Schwoni's pc are completely different from OS and hardware and you have both the same problem. Schwoni's graphics card is even better than mine and his 8GB of RAM also should be enough.

I just tried it with an older PC and my FPS were between 25 and 70.
Nvidia GT430 1GB, Intel E8400 (2x 3GHz), 4GB RAM, XP-32.

Read the thread where you downloaded the track from page 16 on. Maybe you find a hint, but there seems to be no final solution. For some pc's it works, for some it doesn't.

I hope Beta 6 will solve this problem with Nordschleife. Amsterdam Indoor and Roskilde also didn't show a problem with Beta3, but with Beta4+5 there are a lot of problems with some pc's.

Amsterdam Indoor is broken since Beta 4, so these posts make me hope it's fixed.

I don't know why my pc shows no problems. Nak has also an I7-2600k processor and no problems. Schwoni uses an AMD quad and has problems, but the cpu itself should be strong enough.

In my old post I have attached a zip file with a new nordschleife.rdf for KRP and the stall.edf for KRP.

Unzip the files and copy them in your nordschleife folder (overwrite the two existing GPBikes files).

EVERYONE can upload there. U can download on this page without register. If u registrer u can upload tracks, paints and helmets. So everyone could update it. There are 17 people registered but only 2 loaded up there.
We have preview pics, u can type a info and the download is fast. So what u want more? But if u guys think u could do it better, feel free.

I guess that's the point wich is not clear for everyone...
So, everyone can register one the site to make his own uploads. They just need to be checked by one of the administrators and set to be published. Thats just for security-reasons (not using it as a illegal filesharing-platform), and should be no problem.
By now Oelfuß, robby, Schwoni and myself can check the uploads.
So if you upload something just write one of us a pm and it should be checked & published quiet soon, or just wait until one of the administrators is online on the download-page and it will also be checked ;)
My intention was to build a page where the community can easily make a complete download-page by itself... It just needs to be used by the people ;)
So feel free to update the missing stuff by yourself on the site, that safes a lot of work for everyone... Uploading content should be not so difficult.

Greets,
Marian

Hi beatsme,

Sorry no hotlinking to the files allowed. Use this webpage http://kart.marianley.de instead. No need to register at the page for downloads.

@ Schwoni

it's our fileserver  ;)

Guys I was at that page you said (http://kart.marianley.de/downloads.php?cat_id=1&orderby=download_id&sort=ASC) and when I click to download the track it redirects to that site I mentioned and it asks for password.

So... got it?

I cant download without password.  What i do?
