Since Beta 4 it is possible  to do different layouts in Tracked. Please check on that an simply try to do all of them, it shouldn't be much work. If you need help (doing different centerlines, etc. - I haven't taken a look on layout editor yet), I could do that.

cool thanks.  I really want dynamic groove i hope its not difficult to implement.

butt first i have to get the track to show when i import it right now all materials are black and the track just inst not there unlike other imports ive done where at least the track as shown even if material have not.

This was my favorite track in Super1Karting so i am determined to get it to work.

Could you tell the first photo was taken from GTR2?

Default is used for Rotax/KF and "Fast" without the final chicane is used for gearbox in real life

that sounds really fast and maybe even boring.  Not alot of turns on this track but its an island which is awesome reminds me of Montreal F1GP

it was mot a walk in park by any means basically had to convert it twice from gtr2 > rfactor > krp.
Intergration to krp was the easy part

btw  if you have downloaded this track please download it again i had to adjust a spectatot in pitlane because they were hovering

Thanks for the tracks EVO :).

Some things I noticed
- when I look at your KC1 time at the standard track, something seems to be wrong with the time
- there are no corridors defined for the race start
- checkpoints are missing

Title: Re: Lydd plus bonus winter track
Post by: Schwoni on February 10, 2012, 10:12:41 PM
checkpoints are that u don`t have a chance to cut set them in every corner. for example check bueren. that blue lines are checkpoints
Title: Re: Lydd plus bonus winter track
Post by: EVO on February 10, 2012, 10:23:03 PM
okay had no idea. Ill do that.  that probably why that time is impossibe becasue i was going to the cadet course when i was trying to do one clean lap for a comparison video im making
Title: Re: Lydd plus bonus winter track

EVO, something went wrong, there are still no checkpoints and corridors in your new .rdf files.
Title: Re: Lydd plus bonus winter track

seriously? i set it to

-5

Title: Re: Lydd plus bonus winter track
Post by: dibu on February 10, 2012, 11:14:43 PM
Checkpoints and corridors have to be defined in the .rdf files. You can do it with tracked.
Title: Re: Lydd plus bonus winter track
Post by: dibu on February 10, 2012, 11:20:37 PM
the .rdf files you upladed show a date of 03 of february. I guess they aren't the new files.

You see it here:

corridor0 = 0.000000
corridor1 = 0.000000
num_checkpoints = 0

No need to change the .trp files.

Attached an example off a lydd.rdf with corridors and checkpoints.

you are 100% correct.  Thankyou for the correct .rdf

I have to fix cameras and marschalls.  Can you point me to how to do marshalls properly and layouts?

For cameras and marshals you better ask one of the guys with more experience.
Here Schwoni gives a short description  http://forum.kartracing-pro.com/index.php?topic=962.msg5687#msg5687

This happens if no (closed) centerline is stamped to the .trp
For creating the new .rdf, I used the version you registered in the stats ( http://www.mediafire.com/?5rc79qrpjj991d8 ).

Hehe, your comparison video looks quite good. ;D

Title: Re: Lydd plus bonus winter track (temporarily unavailable for fixes)
Post by: EVO on February 11, 2012, 10:29:16 PM
thankyou for the link, i dont see the marshalls like in schwoni's screen shot

its too bad i am sucky driver.  I found out why the numbers at the bottom went.
I deleted the arial.fnt in the tracked fokder by accdient.

I fixed the replay camera switching by adding more cameras, and added a pitlane camera

Now i going to use a replay of schwoni when we tested for Best line

layout is not required unless I want to do the cadet course. or the large course.
There are three course possibiblies.  But they dont add much to the track think

Did you unzip the misc.pkz and point the Model Path to ...\Kart Racing Pro\misc\marshals ?
After doing this, load your marshals.cfg. Now you should see the guys.

thanks now to move them i click locate then (z,x,c) but they dont move

I found a sort of work around.  I opened the marshalls.cfg with note pad and edit the numbers save then reload in tracked

You have to press and hold down the key. Now you can move the marshal with your mouse.

Split1 line is too short at the right side. If you drive near the curb without even touching it, your lap is invalid. See the attached picture.

Instead of
-5.000000
5.000000

better use for S1
-3.800000
6.900000

Title: Re: Lydd plus bonus winter track (temporarily unavailable for fixes)

Can you explain, more segments to kerbs.
Title: Re: Lydd plus bonus winter track (temporarily unavailable for fixes)
Post by: EVO on February 12, 2012, 11:19:50 PM
when you drive the lydd track you see in the kerbs are very segmented like Gran Turismo 1  I want to make the track up to par with tracks like yours.  so the kerbs need more segments like at warden law and all the others
Title: Re: Lydd plus bonus winter track (temporarily unavailable for fixes)
Post by: maxrod on February 13, 2012, 12:54:24 AM
Try to explain a way, editable poly, edge, select top edge and bottom edge, connect.
Title: Re: Lydd plus bonus winter track (temporarily unavailable for fixes)
Post by: EVO on February 13, 2012, 01:24:09 AM
not quite understanding i have the kerb and i want to add vertices so that the kerb as more polygons and looks nice and smooth from the top like your pictures
Title: Re: Lydd plus bonus winter track (temporarily unavailable for fixes)
Post by: maxrod on February 13, 2012, 01:55:21 AM
Select kerb, In modify you will need to use edge, then select 2 edges top and bottom, then in edit edges, connect, The connect will give you more edges = polygons, you can set the connect to what you need, Or you could try turbosmooth but it will round your edges if your kerbs are made from a box, ok with plane.
Title: Re: Lydd plus bonus winter track (temporarily unavailable for fixes)
Post by: EVO on February 13, 2012, 04:09:26 AM
can you post a screenshot of the edge edit connect becuase i dont see it

Title: Re: Lydd plus bonus winter track (temporarily unavailable for fixes)
Post by: EVO on February 13, 2012, 05:44:07 PM
okay so need to convert to editable poly.  everything is mesh atm
Title: Re: Lydd plus bonus winter track NEW BETA AVAILABLE
Post by: Snappe on February 16, 2012, 01:27:04 PM
But if you use connect you'll have to move all the new edges by hand to make it smooth  :o

Try adding a turbosmooth modifier first... It's a bit lazy but it will be a lot quicker if you are doing it to all the kerbs!
Title: Re: Lydd plus bonus winter track NEW BETA AVAILABLE
Post by: EVO on February 16, 2012, 09:51:40 PM
Turbo Smooth did a great job added alot of polygons.  Ill test and see if its still drivable

Title: Re: Lydd plus bonus winter track NEW BETA AVAILABLE
Post by: EVO on February 16, 2012, 10:54:16 PM
I have to attach and weld the kerbs together for turbo smooth to work properly becuase its trying to invery polygonts at the ends of kerbs

Hi Evo,

You've done a fantastic job with this track. I've bought a copy of the game just so I can run it. I have a couple of observations that I hope you can take on board to make this track spot on.

In general, the profile of the kerbs is too steep towards the back of the kerb. Lydd is a place where you can really attack the kerbs to improve your time. Also, when rejoining the track, the back of the kerbs are too high/steep, and you are either grounded or launched into the air. I've been off track at Lydd many times   :D and know you can rejoin most of the track without too many problems.

Also, the bumps into turn 1 (after the start grid) are a little too aggressive.

I can provide further feedback on specific kerbs (i.e. which ones you cut and which ones need to be wider as they are used as the braking zone) if you would find it useful.

Many thanks for all your hard work so far.

Cheers

Rob

Post by: EVO on May 21, 2012, 10:59:31 PM
yes i would find this very useful. Maybe if you made a diagram track map this would be best. The kerbs are very hard to adjust without remaking them.  but i can try.
The hump on the back straight is it accurate or is it more of a hump or less?
Title: Re: Lydd Kart Circuit plus winter version
Post by: robbo43 on May 21, 2012, 11:32:32 PM
Evo,

Will definately help you out any way I can. I'm away with work for the next couple of nights, but on my return I will try to do as you suggest and use a track map to add comments. i will probably attach stills from youtube videos to illustrate what I can. Sounds like a nice little project for me later in the week  :P

As for the bump on the straight out at the back of the circuit, the rise seems good, the drop the other side needs to be a little more aggressive (or it may be the crest of the bump).

The original video you used to make the KRP vs real life video illustrates quite well how you use the kerbs alot at Lydd. To illustrate the fact that no 2 tracks are the same there is another very good track about an hour from Lydd called Bayford Meadows where you need to avoid most of the kerbs at all costs!!

Cheers

Rob
Title: Re: Lydd Kart Circuit plus winter version
Post by: EVO on May 22, 2012, 04:08:02 AM
yeah when i converted Lydd from GTR2 i updated it based on the Youtube video.  The original track did not have the hump i had to make it.  didn come out as good as I had hoped.  I have any idea for fixing it though.  The kerbs will be very hard to fix. Almost dont want to bother with them.  The GTR2 kart mod you would not get stuck on kerbs.  But KRP is far more realistic so getting stuck on kerbs or low polygon count bumps in the track mesh really have an affect on the kart in game.

Need to also figure out how to make the track surface look more like asphalt and less like soft rubber while maintaing that groove down the center.

i may do a skid over the track just for the groove

How is the grass. Some videos i see it is thick and lush everywhere and others it is more patchy and dried.
How would you rate the overall look minus the bad things you have pointed out
Title: Re: Lydd Kart Circuit plus winter version
Post by: robbo43 on May 23, 2012, 08:47:39 PM
Hi Evo,

I think the overall look of the track is very good - the grass varies at the circuit depending on the time of year and whether they've had any moto-x. Sounds like the kerbs will be a nightmare, but it really does affect the drivability of the circuit. I will press ahead this weekend with pulling together a track map with comments and photos.

Cheers

Rob

Title: Re: Lydd Kart Circuit plus winter version
Post by: robbo43 on May 25, 2012, 01:04:23 AM
I've just had a thought. I have no idea about track modelling, but would it be easier as a temporary fix to raise the height of the grass in line with the outside of the kerbs (i.e. is it a generic plain which could be raised with a few mouse clicks). I'm guessing that this would make it easier to rejoin the track, and you may be able to be more aggressive on the kerbs without being launched into the air. It wouldn't sort out the profile of the kerbs but would make the track more 'attackable'.

Cheers

Evo can you please check the rdf file of your latest upload.
Offline and online timing doesn't work for me.

The problem is checkpoint 3 at long=397. You changed the material of the left curb and if the left side of the checkpoint line touches the new material the checkpoint doesn't work anymore. If I shorten the left side from -5.00000 to -3.68000 everything works.

hi evo there is a glitch with ur final lydd cicruit  when you go over a kerb (the big flat one in the chicane)  you fall into the ground and go into a floating mode where you can see the track above and the kart is flying!

you're version before did not do this

can you fix it?

it happens with the over little kerbs to but you can just drive straight through them like there not there
