Title: Animation of Parts
Post by: Birel-Rotax 42 on April 10, 2014, 06:38:52 PM
I created a model of the cadet chassis for Birel. However, I am wondering how the animations are done on the chassis. Is the spindle/pedals/steering wheel similar to how airboxes mount on engines (ie. title the object of connection/animation in 3ds max as such specified in the cfg, or would I have to animate it myself. If it is required to animate, does the .edf file also support animation, or is there a separate tool that can be used to put in as a .anim/different file? Thanks for any responses!

Bump.
Anyone who has a clue about this, please say so. PiBoSo, how did you do it for the karts in game?

The objects are animated using the pivot.
Object name and rotation axis for each part must be set in gfx.cfg, that is a text file.

For the steer rods the links must be set, too.

Thank you very much! Is the axis of rotation similar to the sprocket?
