Title: Hosting Races?
Post by: rich32g on May 04, 2013, 05:49:15 PM
Hey guys,

Just a quick question. I am thinking about starting a league using Kart Racing PRO. Is it possible to host a sever from a home PC for others to join you, rFactor style?

If there is documentation on bandwidth & hardware requirements, could someone point me in the right direction?

Many thanks,

Rich

The dedicated server discussion is here.  http://forum.kartracing-pro.com/index.php?topic=8.0

If you want to host a game on the computer you are using then you just host a game using the button in the world menu.

Make sure you open/forward the required ports on the router and the computer firewall as this seems to be where most people have issues. The port numbers are covered in the above discussion as well.

You will need to set the numbers allowed in the server according to your upload bandwidth. I have 850-950 kbps upload and I find 8 is fine and 9 at a stretch but there is timing issues.

good luck
