Title: FBX2EDF not working proberly
Post by: T. Struijs on December 17, 2022, 09:43:33 PM
I made a track using 3DS Max and wanted to export to a .map file. I selected the FBX file (230mb) and selected the location I wanted to save the EDF.map file. I clicked convert and it was done converting in less then a second. When I looked at the EDF file it was only 1Kilo byte, any solutions to this?

Hi, in fbx2edf you need to select Type: MAP and specify the name of the .MAP file (e.g. 123.map). A small filesize can also be related to the track being incorrectly positioned in the space while exporting to the FBX format (NB: always export with Y-axis up).

Yeah, I think there's something in the FBX file, which is not right. Any chance you can PM me the link to your FBX? And what are your file units in 3ds Max? Meters?

Yep thank you, I would like to get this figured out. I'm using meters.

Hi again and thanks for the file. To resolve the issue, simply remove "ยด" symbol from the filename. The converter doesn't like special characters.
