I was hoping the 50% alpha would make the white background gray, but it didnt.  Im starting to think alpha on that screen wont work at all and i need cut out those spaces of the 3d model.  I dont kow how to do it in max though.  Everytime i do Boolean one mesh completely diappears instead of just cutting from it.   I dont wont to go all the way back to Rhino 4 to make some simple subtractions from the model.

Good, the carbon look, is perfect, I've done the matte LCD background and it matches good
with that nice texture, now we need to improve LED. Do you need an "off" version of it?

here is the old version not updated yet I just did a channel mixer monochrome adjustment to the yellow LED and darkented it abit 

how can i cut the areas for the data out of the mmodel with out losing the face mesh completely

I think you have to cut all the data area and then add the detail via alpha channel, I don't know
if there is another solution for this!

Mycrhon comes in black, red and blue,  there is also optional no dash too  so that makes 8 total
