A little update on the progress on Kart Racing Pro.
The main focus so far has been on the tyre simulation model, to integrate some fixes and improvements:
1) fixed a bug that limits slip ( introduced in Beta7 )
2) temperatures should now be correct
3) fixed a bug that could generate wrong dynamic track surface data ( the random marbles bug should hopefully be fixed )
4) faster response to slip changes

There are improvements planned on the karts.

I would really appreciate it, when the netcode will be optimized in Beta8. For sure it has been developed much better than before, but there's still a lot of space to make it perfectly.
With the help of an improved netcode it's way more fun to drive online and that's what most of us want to have!

Not being able to rub and push people down straights (even at a ping of 40) sucks :(
Another thing we have mentioned during many online races are the starting procedure of the rolling start.
I like the speed limit, but when the green light comes, everything should be free (like in the reality)!
It was nearly impossible to do a start without any penalties and that sucks! So, is it possible to improve this procedure?
Everything's fine, but remove these rules after the green lights came and it'll be more fun.

id like it if there was an actuall cover on the radiator cover and when you adjust it on track it moves. Its a bit unrealistic at the moment when you adjust the radiator and just numbers apear on the screen

Yea better netcode would be awesome, so you can actually nudge someone without spinning out of control into the wall, so you can actually do close racing.
I think the netcode improvements is key. We really need to have bigger fields with less bandwidth use. Keep up the great work Piboso.
i would like to have a dynamic tiremodel. it would be cool because driving over kerbs in krp you really fly but at the same kerbs in real you maybe are 5cm in the air. the tire deforming for me is 2nd after the netcode.

In the physics tyres already have vertical, longitudinal and lateral deformation.
could you make them softer? because it feels like they are not soft enough.

Mostly horizontally. Karting tyres have huge lateral deformation. Looking some photos, I would say that contact area can move 3-5cm each side!

Yes, good news but something in that video is not that good :( The steering is not working as it should... Too many degrees :-\ I've drive in Zuera and it is a track with 0 understeer, in fact I had almost everytime oversteer

Understeer is a known problem. It will be fixed before release of Beta8: the steering geometry simulation is going through a complete rewrite.
The video is meant to show the track only.

Which bug is "tyre deformation"?
the vertical and horizontal deformation i think aritz.
But KRP doesnt have visible tyre deformation, so the bug has to be physic related, which means better handling
yeah and maybe piboso adds the visual deformation.

A quick update on the development status:
Zuera is completed, but the mini kart is taking more time than expected: the model is complex and the mini driver needs animations work, too.
Everything should be ready by the end of the month. Sorry for the long wait.

piboso with the arrival of beta 8 and later this year version 1.0 are you considering any marketing or advertising? over the last couple of weeks i have noticed a huge downfall in players on krp, i think the reason is for new players is they havent heard about this sim because they havent seen any advertisements. are you planning any advertising? i think why no one plays is because they just dont know about it
It's quite normal that player count drops towards new release. That's how it goes with pretty much every game in beta stage.
But I agree that at least when version 1.0 is released some kind of advertising campaign would be smart move.

PiBoSo, I know this may delay the release date of Beta 8 but there's something I highly recommend.
I really think you should fix the wet for online, even if you set up an online server to 'Rainy' and 100% wet a dry line still seems to form. Also, there are no drops of water on your visor online.

As you can see in the latest video, compared to the previous one, now the steer ratio is much closer to the real one, because the steering geometry simulation has been completely rewritten.
There are many other changes. Hopefully they will make KRP more realistic.
in beta 8 we are able to mod bodyworks right? can you put them on what chassis you like or will we only be able to add it on e.g crg?
