Title: Unussual bug
Post by: snosno15 on December 14, 2013, 02:43:46 PM
This is really weird..

When i open the game ( without setting my wheel in the pc ) i can play fine with my keyboard.
But when i plug in my wheel, i can set my settings, and as soon i press " To track " i get this box, and then the game crashes..

Help, what can i do? :) I wanna practice for the 2014 season  >:( :(

What steering wheel are you using?
If it is a Thrustmaster, there is a report that updating the drivers solves the issue.

I've had the same problem with my Ferrari F430.What I've done:
-Clean install
-Drivers updating
-Setting different FFB settings.
Also found out that it works without FFB.(you can try,it should xD)

Okay, but you need FFB! To make it work I made a clean install,DELETED my FFB drivers, reinstalled the PC and installed the latest drivers for the wheel. And then you got a piece of the cake ! :)

Enjoy!  :)

Okay,did you try the following?:

-Delete COMPLETELY KRP from the My Documents folder
-Uninstall your FFB drivers and restart the PC after these 2 steps
-Install the latest FFB and graphics drivers
-Start the game.

If you did,try to run it WITHOUT FFB(disable it in the settings) and tell the results. Also, what wheel are you using?
If it doesn't do problems without FFB,try to Disable the auto-centering(make it by the game) and try the game with FFB WITHOUT auto-centering from the wheel.

If this doesn't help,I don't have more ideas.Anyway,it should work without the FFB,I'm 100% sure about it because I had the same problem.:)
Good luck.

Well,Angelo(guess that's ur real name lol)..I can't help you then..I did exactly the same what I wrote and everything seemed to be working fine..Another thing you can try it go "To Track" without auto-centering the wheel..I mean, leave the centering to the game and turn off the FFB.Because I've also noticed(maybe you've noticed it too) that when the crash happens, the auto-centering turns off automatically.

Good luck.

The only problem I had with windows 8.1 was a missing .dll
Downloaded the OpenAl installation file and all was fixed.

No FFB problems, no go to track crashes or anything.
It's working fine here.

I have krp working under windows 7 and 8
I had no problems with windows 7, I just installed and played.
With windows 8 (or 8.1) I only got a missing dll which was fixed by installing the openal.

Normally game crashes are fixed just by updating the graphic card's driver.

It's not because of windows 8 that you can't get it to work. I tried it on x86 and x64 versions and all was fine.
It must be something else...

how do i chose what bit version i need (32 or 64)??
thankyou
Title: Re: Unussual bug
Post by: nmpcs on January 08, 2014, 10:45:42 AM
Well, 32 bit Windows can only manage about 3gb RAM if i'm not mistaken, it doesn't matter if you have 8gb installed...
64 bit windows will manage beyond that, so if you have 4gb or more you should install this version so you can take the maximum of your RAM

oh, but before installing a x64 version, make sure that your hardware is 64 bit capable.

Buying would be the best choice, nevertheless if you want to try it before you buy, you can get an evaluation copy from the microsoft website.

I think there is no such thing....
As a matter of fact, I don't think there are many 64 bit games....

If your operating system is 32 bit, the game will run at the limit of the os, but if you buy 64 bit, the game will be the limiting factor. Have you checked that the graphics card in your system is still functioning in other games?

Have you tried to do a clean install? Are the drivers for your mobo/gpu and bios all the most current ones? Have you tried switching pci-e lanes on your mobo? Can you verify that it works without the graphics card (using onboard graphics)? Have you tried turning down the resolution and graphics settings to at least enter the game?
