Front brakes are also banned in Australia outside of CIK classes.

then you have to learn driving :D
already have, better way to do it is drive on slicks in the wet, that is how you really learn how to drive
Only if those slicks are Dunlop SL1's and you still have a dry setup. :D

Clipping is when the wavelength of sound is greater than what the microphone can record (or what a speaker can play), basically when it's too loud which I think would be a problem in a dyno room. For what it sounds like, think about when you hold a microphone in the wind. I could be wrong but I think this would be problematic for recording in such a loud environment.

Example of clipping, skip to 3:50

You would need a pretty good mic to avoid as much clipping as possible.

I was slower with it when I did initial testing but since then I've matched my times that I can do in KF1, I think I need to adjust the torque curve at high revs to be a little lower because it is faster to bounce off the limiter for me which isn't realistic. It drives quite differently to the other KRP karts so it definitely needs a different setup and driving style. Glad to see you like it. :D

Sounds good LauZzZn, I think I'll release the next version once you have the 3D files ready and beta 9 is out, hopefully PiBoSo unlocks tyres for us. ;)

It's cool to see so many people using my creation. :D If anyone has any feedback for the X30, feel free to post it here: http://forum.kartracing-pro.com/index.php?topic=2731.0

By the looks of it, it's probably a little too fast since I raised the RPM limiter.

so if you run direct drive in Yamaha and of course KZ2, you can't get out and push start yourself to continue on, that is the most ridiculous rule i have ever heard of

Yeah. I don't really mind but then again I've never known any different. In the end usually if you have to get out of your kart before you get going again you've lost most chance of getting a good result anyway.

The rule in Australia is that once you are out of your kart you are out of the race, I never realised it was different in Europe and elsewhere.

I was thinking about how we only have a handful of chassis here and how if the chassis files were to be unencrypted it could get messy with 3rd party mods, so here is my suggestion. Instead of have 'kart' mods, we could have 'class' mods where the class sets the rules and you select the chassis, tyres, engine, etc based on the class rules. I'll use a Tony Kart/Vortex/KZ1 with control dry and wet tyre as an example, something like this with the following parameters could be good:

Chassis
chassis_id = tkracer
chassis_name = Tony Kart Racer EVK
year = 2013
bodywork = tonykart

front_brakes_hand = 1 // you can fit KF style front brakes to this kart
front_brakes_foot = 1 // you can fit KZ style front brakes to this kart

*brakes details*

axle30 = 0 // you can't use 30mm axles, there are no suitable bearing carriers
axle40 = 1 // you can use 40mm axles
axle50 = 1 // you can use 50mm axles

*chassis details*

Engine
engine_id = vortexkz
engine_name = Vortex RVXX
category = kz1

*engine details*

Tyres
tyre_id = mgfz
tyre_name = MG FZ
category = CIKM

*tyre details*

Class
class_id = kz1
class_name = KZ1

engine_control = 2 // 0 = list of engines, 1 = single engine, 2 = category of engines
engine = kz1

tyre_control = 0 // 0 = list of tyres, 1 = single tyre, 2 = category of tyres
tyre = mgfz, mgwz

chassis_control = 0 // 0 = any suitable chassis, 1 = single chassis, 2 = list of chassis
chassis = // not applicable, open chassis

front brakes = 2 // 0 = none, 1 = hand, 2 = foot

minimum weight = 175 // automatically adds correct amount of ballast, allow the user to position ballast in setups

-------------------------------------------

That's just a very rough example, but this way you can set up the classes, then as engines and chassis are added nothing extra will need to be modified for them to work. It does kinda add loopholes for people to make super engines to use in a class however mismatching should take care of that, or you could just list the engines to use instead of using the category method. At least it's only one file that would need to be changed for extra engines. Thoughts?

I've run 22 degrees caster in the dry and set lap records....

I know a very fast Energy kart driver who runs with the back lip of his seat in line with the centerline of the axle, and he would go further if he could. :D

I don't think KRP helped me much, but it could be very helpful for a newer and less experienced driver improve without having to go to the track. It's not exactly the same as real life, but the same principles apply in the way that you have to drive on here compared to real life. Counter steering is slow, sliding is slow, and mid-corner speed is very important. KRP can help you get into the habit of driving smooth. ;)

Ouch. It seems strange that the stub axle broke before the chassis C section.
