If there will be no unexpected problems, the next release will be the last beta.
The plan is to finalize user interface and features ( in addition to netcode improvements ), so that the "final" release will focus on bugs fix, tuning and optimizations.
So please use the "Suggestions and wishlist" (http://forum.kartracing-pro.com/index.php?board=3.0) forum to post as many ideas as possible.

PiBoSo one of the plans for the future of the game would be the option of putting AI pilots to practice against the computer. ;D
I hope that my proposal looks interesting.

that would too much work. Perfected online play is most desirablw that way more would be playing and all these new servers wouldn't be empty

it's possible create a log file with race info laptimes etc? like rfactor or nkp.
Se we could create some external systems tools for our leagues.
The game is pretty nice if you can improve, load times, and netcode you dont need any other main feature.
Yes, that is very important. +1

Have you seen html exports?
Do you need more info?
Well if it's possibile have a txt or xml file with, laptimes, sector, positions, laps, number of drivers, weather conditions etc i can create a php code for parse it.
I do this thing for rfactor and nkp,and i create an hotlaps system.
The actual html export works fine but for more standings and rankings you need to put the info into a database.
WE WANT INTER-A !!! This was the best's engines in karting.. PLEASE DO IT!
PD: Better with a other sound ^^

Some new abaut Rye House ?????
I would like to see some additions made to the general menu UI. Some indication that things are loading instead of a frozen mouse would be great.

Not much to report, unfortunately. Most of the time was lost to work on another project.
Anyway, so far:
- separate weather and track conditions, with dynamic track surface
- gearbox code revised to have neutral between 1st and 2nd gears.
- paints directory structure revised to make installation a bit easier
- support for multiple track layouts and layout editor
- server option to force a limited number of tires for each event, and possibility to re-fit a used tyre set

- tuned dirt on visor

- shift help is now forced off when a server is set to "No Aids"
- fixed a setup copy bug
- warmup lap cannot be skipped before standing starts
- completed tire pressure simulation
- fixed "track width" setup
- idle throttle setup added
- radiator cover setup added
- added splits in dash
PiBoSo u should then make a bigger radiator because when u tape a small radiator is not necesary only extremely cold so :S

Not yet. There still is work to do on physics, graphics engine and, most of all, netcode. A few more weeks are needed.
I vote for some simple AI karts to race against if time permits to do so.

+ 1 to that...It's been a year that I'm requesting a Multiplayer chat while choosing the server or a list of players online to choose and invite;
it's a bit frustrating to go online and find 4-5 servers with just 1 or 2 ppl online :( (but maybe there are other 10 players looking at the server list and we can't see them ) :'(
I think we PiBoSo and several pilots who want to AI in the game and that players are always on servers. ;) :D ;D
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but if possible it would be great to see the pre-final and final laps to be set individually, and possibly raise the maximum amount of laps
Any news? :)

The originally planned Beta4 will be split in two:
- Beta4 ( that should be released very soon ) will add all the planned features
- Beta5 will then focus on multiplayer and graphics engine's optimizations and fixes ( and maybe HDR rendering and post-processing effects ).

- paints directory structure revised to make installation a bit easier
- support for multiple track layouts and layout editor

- added splits in dash
The latest changes are:
- tuning of jump-start sensitivity
- removed the tires' vibration at near-zero velocity
- multiple dashes support
Also, textures of steering wheels have been changed to allow full painting.
sounds great :)
If each of these changes is working like I expect it to do, this is a major release! I'll be happy to give the layout editor a try and give feedback :)

Yes, to replace the current radiators, that are simulated with a thermostat ( is it correct to say that thermostats are not used in racing karts? ).
It is not a visual effect, though; only physics.

Not really, there are many people who uses thermostats in racing karts, but we don't use it at hot conditions. Only if it's cold. So during summer without thermostats and the rest of the time we use it.

I am really surprised with the new feature...I really am
I am thinking about how are going to wear the wet tyres when the track is drying. I often see this kind of problems on the races, first the track is completely wet but you know how the races are... very long waitings seated on the kart and "when is going to start this f**** race?". Meanwhile the track dries and your wet tyres are no longer needed for the race but you cannot change them! You start the race and first you drive faster than the braves who chosen the dry tyres, but in a few laps, your tyres blow up and the race is over for you... Will the KRP wet tyres work like the real life?

Not so surprising. With dynamic rubber build-up done making the wet track dry is not difficult.
In KRP wet tires on dry track get very hot and wear much faster, but they never blow up.
Your feedback is needed to know if they are realistic or not.

Is KRP the first sim/game to have fully dynamic surface? GP3 and SBK X and F1 2010 all had some kind of "evolving" track, but was it pre-calculated on the racing line only?

This video is quite poor. It doesn't show the actual drying nor the fact that the feature is fully dynamic. And the external camera is not spectacular.
But this was meant for internal use only, until someone pressed to publish it :)
Anyway, the plan is to release Beta4 as soon as possible, not to make more videos.

I think he means, the fact that krp has dynamic track surface will raise expectations for all the other sims around or future ones.
This looks epic!
I play F1 2010/2011 and can confirm that there is something like dynamic weather and rubber too. However, it feels rather scripted. It's more a change of the general grip level than more grip on ideal line vs. less on the other parts of the track. Drying track is ok. I hope (and know) that KRP will do better :)

No. Puddles are a visual effect only.
It looks like hard to do then fine. Do the puddles texture go to a only wet (black) texture one? Then the black wet area will disappear where the karts pass?
I am impatient, sorry! lol
What can I say is FANTASTIC. This sim is and will be the best sim.

AFAIK, PiBoSo, GTR2 also featured this. But, from my memories, it was rather a scripted thing as well. The more you race in the track, the more "rubbered" the track gets, up to a limit, and then you can go faster.
How much days left? I cant wait :)
