So ive made several custom helemets now and i thought id make a how to since its a little tricky

I'll start with visors.  Here is a visor I made for an F1 style helemet.

Using ATOM_Visor_Template.psd (thaks Atom)
I trimmed the Visor stipe layer in the  Visor > addons group

I then found high res ferrari logos and pasted them scaling them by pressing Ctrl+T
I put those in their own seperate layer bellow the dirt layer

Thier hierarchy of layering allows the scratches and dirt to show above the logos.

Here is a little something for making the helmet

the dome is the hardest.  The best thing to do is to save and test, save and test, save and test, save and test, save and test

Do not forget to hide "layer 2" before saving and testing or you will get seam lines where the 3d mappings overlap

the UV map helps align graphics in Photoshop turn the layer off before saving and testing

feel free to ask questions

Here is how to make a custom helmet

print out the template and make a concept sketch
scan it
open the template fit  the scan onto the template by stratching and copying and pasting portions of it

then use the pen tool in the bottom left clicking ad dragging to make curves. Close the selection by clicking where you started and fill it with the brush or gradaint tool.
