Maybe a 'team sport' track in the next beta? Also I love go karting but would prefer bowl cut racing.

Do not worry Piboso, it is just that CRGDK37 has a bowl cut :)

Teh next one will be finally the ''final release'' don't call next beta cause will be not a beta. By the way would be funny and even a bit real if karts after an accident due to a crash can loose the wheels. They loose only two parts right now and this is not accurate when someone crash bad.

If enabled it allows, pressing and holding the lever, to preload the upshift that is completed when the throttle is lifted.

why starting a race with cold tyres? how is in real life? it's a sim, we should watch what's happen in real life and take it into the sim

That's what happens in real life in the USA and probably in other countries to. Also, you start the race on cold tyres anyway in KRP if you don't do the sighting lap. With one warm up lap, this will prevent people from using the whole width of the track and end up "accidentally" swerve into someone and the victim getting a dq penalty for speeding.

Any possibilities of enhancement for multiplayer? This game is amazing, but the online racing has a lot of lag when making contact or even coming close. Once this can be fixed, this game will easily outdo any other sim out there!

piboso will the shading issue for amd openGL drivers be solved or is that a problem on there behalf? dont really want to downgrade the driver as that normally leads to more problems.

Will we also be able to modify the tyres to certain brands and grip level?

I found the online undrivable, but now Ive moved my laptop and steering wheel so it is plugged into the wifi rooter, and although i still get lag its race-able now, just a bit of advice if anyone is struggling with lag and isnt right be the rooter (if you don't have a cable to plug into your computer  get as close as you can)

Cory10 the next release will be the FINAL RELEASE which is 1.0, no more beta afterwards but only improvements we hope. However Piboso hope that will be even these :
- ''general chat'' where players can see each other and talk before enter in each room.
-  no limit in additional modded kart categories (beta 9 can add only 4 more type of engine and then the list became full excluding the others)
-  play with modded categories online in ''Open Categories Mode'' where everyone can choose different one (beta 9 is restricted with the piboso kart only) allowing the categories built from modder (like DD2, X30, etc.) to compete with piboso categories (F100, etc.) which mean that the server must recognize these category (right now is impossible play due to ''category unknown to the server'')
- add the night version of at least the main tracks with artificial illumination.
- adjust the screen (where you choose the kart, where is written ''connected'' which mean loading and the screen where is written garage and to the track) and stretching the him until the left and right border, cause right now the screen is centered but the sides are black.
- fix unknown game crashes (the mouse arrow became stuck and then go to the desktop).
- driveability of karts improved kart just sometimes turn easily on himself even if you are still and steer on left/right.

As long as the host of the server has downloaded the modded kart, you are able to get in. It is only unable to connect because of the "category unknown to server" when the server host, dedicated or non-dedicated, has not downloaded the modded kart.

This is already possible, if the karts are installed on the server.

Sometimes should be the opposite inasmuch the host must have the modded stuff and you as guest if you don't have that kind of mod, you can join the game. So put in this way : As long as the guest of the server has downloaded the modded kart, you are able to get in. And the same happen when someone trying new engine, unknown categories message if you don't have that mod.

Karts installed on the server, what need for install the kart on the server ? So if I have f100 and another one x30 (modded) can we race together under ''open categories" ?
Title: Re: Next Update?
Post by: Birel-Rotax 42 on October 27, 2013, 04:46:02 PM
As long as the host (person hosting the server) and the client (person connecting) have the same version of the modded kart, they can connect and race. If you have a different version, you will get a data mismatch.

Unfortunately at the moment there is no solution to the problem with AMD drivers.
Assuming it is the same issue we see in GPB (and likely WRS), there's a neat workaround (that I've posted a long ago on GPB/WRS forums): it consists in putting some files from old AMD dirvers that work fine (e.g. 13.5beta2) in the GPB/WRS/KRP directory (where you have the main .exe). This way GPB/WRS/KRP will use 13.5 drivers (at least for the openGL part) while all your other games can still use whichever recent driver version you like.

I've created this archive, should work  for Vista / Win7 / Win 8 32/64, just put the 6 files in the directory of KRP where you have the main .exe.

https://docs.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0BzmU7Qoo77i1dl9NSlNHUmplcFE (https://docs.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0BzmU7Qoo77i1dl9NSlNHUmplcFE)

I posted a detailed description on how to create the above archive from AMD drivers file, but the old GPB/WRS forum has been made inaccessible so ... I have to write it another time:

MaX.

P.S.
Thanks to AMD for NOT giving any support about this problem. Guess my next card will be a bit more green then red.

Im fine with waiting, but I hope for it to be out before the start of SKWC because it would be very hard to have more than 12 people with this build.

beta10 will be released after 8 mounths, 13 days, 14 ours and 23 minutes, so the better thing to do is to take it easy and going on to play with beta9
